The expected annual salary range for this role is $88499.97 - $134200.04 a year.

What you'll do:

The Associate Project Manager - Power Systems Automation role is critical to the success of our group, as this position is often the lead commercial contact for our customer base. The role is responsible for fostering a long-term business relationship with our customers. This position is a dynamic role with a mix of project management, peer leadership, and financial accountability. This position will provide engineering and management support to teams of Field Service Representatives and Contractors. The Project Leader will assist the PSA Team Leader in developing short term business financial forecasts, implementing the annual profit plan, and developing cost estimates for proposals, change notices, and compiling negotiations.

In this position you will;

  • Provide applied engineering and consultation to customers in the areas of system integration, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of power management, control, and mission critical systems.
  • Use modern project management tools and techniques to execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS).
  • Manage the PSA portion of awarded projects for electrical equipment and critical process monitoring, including working knowledge of electrical equipment design & installation, data center equipment, and communication protocols.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, support Sales with initial and follow-up quotations for customers, interface and coordinate with other plants and business units within the company and outside vendors to procure parts and services for the district.
  • Have full responsibility for assigned projects and authority to complete them from inception to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources.
  • Have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion.
  • Estimate, prepare, submit, and manage change orders between customer and Eaton
  • Plan, establish, maintain, and regularly update a project schedule on assigned projects
  • Manage communication and distribute documentation between Eaton and its customers
  • Report, forecast, and present project financial activity to Eaton's management
  • Provide direction to field personnel on as-needed basis
  • Prepare, distribute, and follow through with project safety plan

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 years experience leading and managing large long-term service engineering projects of scope
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation will be offered for this role. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of location listed in job description to be considered. Active duty military candidates are exempt from this requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional Management Certification
  • Intimate knowledge of EPMS software offerings, as well as associated products such as SQL and Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Experience commissioning electrical equipment in construction/data center/mission critical environment.
  • Professional Engineering license
  • General Contractor's license

Position Criteria

  • In-depth knowledge of Eaton Power Monitoring software (Power Xpert, PowerNet, and Foreseer)
  • Experience with HMI (Human Machine Interface) software and power monitoring software packages.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of the company's and competitor's automation and power management systems and services.
  • Computer literacy. Working knowledge of all software packages relevant to successful performance of tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication skills. Particular skill in communicating technical information to non-technical personnel, educating customers, and presenting information to internal and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of billing and invoicing practices for service.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with automation and power management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated capability in effectively managing multiple projects with various goals, deadlines, and budget constraints.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching/mentoring ability.
  • Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function, customer channels to market, and negotiation techniques and must be able to assist in the generation of proposals and negotiations
  • Knowledge, understanding, and execution of long-term installation and service projects, including ability to develop and maintain project schedules
  • Contract and subcontract knowledge and experience
  • Ability to implement project financial controls
  • Responsibility for project profit, loss, and forecast
  • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
