Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a AI Data Engineering Specialist. This position can sit at one of the following locations on a hybrid work schedule: Beachwood, OH: Galesburg, MI: Houston, TX: Menomonee Falls, WI: Raleigh, NC: OR Moon Township, PA.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year.

What you'll do:

Job Summary
As data professionals, we drive the development, construction, and testing of data solutions that drive business value while upholding quality and technical standards. These responsibilities include overseeing the entire process from acquiring source data to creating intricate transformation pipelines, orchestrating AI/ML solutions, and designing front-end visualizations.

With a focus on end-to-end delivery, we ensure the seamless acquisition of source data, the development of complex transformation pipelines, and the orchestration of AI/ML engineering processes. Additionally, we excel in front-end visualization to provide a comprehensive view of the data insights.

This role demands strong communication and presentation abilities, enabling me to lead collaborations with business stakeholders effectively. By fostering direct engagement with stakeholders, will drive rapid and incremental business value, ensuring successful outcomes with each project.

Job Responsibilities
• Leads collaboration across complex arrays of people, technology and environments
• Manages and develops robust data solutions aligned to prescribed quality measures (availability, completeness, accuracy, etc.)
• Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and, non-functional requirements and enterprise technology and data protection standards

• Build infrastructure and data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of sources
• Deploy complex eneterprise solutions to a wide range of data technology patterns and platforms
• Design, Engineer and orchestrate datasets with scale, supportability and reusability at the forefront of design
• Demonstrate and document solutions by using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, data lineage, and technical and business metadata
• Partner with senior business stakeholders, functional analysts, and data scientists to ensure solutions meet or exceed requirements

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications (Must Haves)
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum five (5) years in IT experience
• Minimum three (3) year in cutting edge data platforms such as snowflake
• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations: Beachwood, OH: Galesburg, MI: Houston, TX: Menomonee Falls, WI: Raleigh, NC: OR Moon Township, PA.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Technical knowledge
• Advanced proficiency in data storage and processing technologies, including data lakes, data warehouses, time-series databases, and graph databases, across both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures, including Apache Kafka, MQTT, and HiveMQ, for real-time data ingestion and processing.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise analytics platforms, such as Palantir Foundry, for operationalizing data workflows, building analytical applications, and enabling data-driven decision-making at scale
• Familiarity with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts for organizing and contextualizing industrial data across OT and IT systems.
• Extensive experience with cloud-native data platforms, including object storage, relational and NoSQL databases, distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark), and containerized compute environments.
• Skilled in data integration methodologies, with hands-on experience in both batch (ETL/ELT) and real-time/on-demand (API, SQL-based) data ingestion and transformation.
• Expertise in data modeling, including dimensional models (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) and normalized transactional models (3NF), applied across OLTP, OLAP, NoSQL, and Big Data ecosystems.
• Advanced programming capabilities in multiple languages for data manipulation and engineering, such as Python, Scala, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Proficient in building and maintaining robust data pipelines, including orchestration, monitoring, data quality enforcement, and observability best practices.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, including version control, automated testing, and deployment pipelines for data engineering workflows.
• Advanced data visualization skills, with the ability to design and deliver interactive analytics solutions using tools like Power BI, Grafana, R, and Python.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in enterprise and industrial data environments.
