Compensation: $21.80/hr plus $1.25/hr shift differential

What We’re Seeking
A highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Quality Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety and quality, as well as a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Food Safety and Quality:
- Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials according to company and regulatory standards
- Assist in preparing the production line for shift start-up. This includes bringing scales, O2/CO2 analyzer, trays, and utensils.
- Follow all GMPs and is responsible for monitoring GMP practices in the production rooms.
- Monitors line and equipment cleanliness prior to the start of day and after each break notifying the Line Controller or Production Lead of any issues.
- Conducts portion control weights including machine adjustments, net weights, MAP checks, scale accuracy, label checks and quality checks at the line according to standard work.
GMP and Safety:
- Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program at E. A. Sween Company
- Completes all personal safety and food safety/GMP related training.
- Report near miss & hazardous conditions to my supervisor or the safety team.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in food science or related field is preferred
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using English
- Past work experience in Food Production and/or Quality is preferred
- Attention to detail and strong understanding of quality control procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft work and excel)
- Cross-cultural competence; effective and respectful interactions with people from any culture or place of origin
- Ability to operate an iPad
- Ability to stand and move around in cold environment for 95% of shift
