The Executive Director, Strategy & Market Solutions, is a senior leader responsible for supporting the development of strategic objectives for the Clearing & Securities Services (CSS) and working with the business leaders to execute on the defined strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership across various business lines to identify new market opportunities, develop strategic plans, and lead new initiatives. This role combines strategic thinking, market analysis, and engagement with leadership, including the Board and industry forums, to ensure DTCC's continued growth and innovation in the financial services industry

The Impact you will have in this role:
We are seeking an accomplished executive strategist to join our leadership team and drive the next phase of our growth. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of the capital markets lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on post-trade processes, and a proven track record in developing robust business cases to pursue both organic and inorganic growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in leading the due diligence and deal execution processes for mergers & acquisitions (M&A) as well as minority investments, while maintaining a keen awareness of the evolving market landscape, industry trends, and the disruptive power of emerging technologies.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic assessment and development of business cases for expansion opportunities, considering both organic initiatives and inorganic activities such as M&A and minority investments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities aligned with the company's growth objectives.
- Support and, where appropriate, lead the due diligence process for potential M&A and minority investment transactions, including financial, operational, and strategic analysis.
- Monitor, analyze, and synthesize market intelligence, competitor movements, and emerging trends to inform executive decision-making.
- Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies, such as digital assets, blockchain, and artificial intelligence, on capital markets infrastructure and DTCC's business model. Advise senior leadership on strategies for adoption, adaptation, and maintaining competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving landscape.
- Develop and present high-impact presentations and reports for senior leadership and board-level audiences.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, advisors, and stakeholders to support deal sourcing and partnership opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, business development, investment banking, consulting, or a related executive role within the capital markets sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in the lifecycle of capital markets, especially post-trade operations, clearing, and settlement processes.
- Experience supporting or leading due diligence and/or deal-making for M&A and minority investments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and communicate data-driven business cases.
- Proven ability to interpret market trends and competitive dynamics to shape business strategy.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. The team provides DTCC's portfolio of core securities business, including Institutional Trade processing and First Line Resilience and Control to facilitate better end-to-end planning and prioritization as well as enable more coordinated and seamless delivery of capabilities and services for our clients.
