The impact you will have in this role:

The Product Owner in Asset Services plays a pivotal role in aligning business goals with delivery execution across functions such as Underwriting, Securities Processing, Issuer Services, and Corporate Actions. This role is responsible for defining and owning business requirements for modernization initiatives like UW Modernization, the Asset Services Portal, and MMI Issuance, while coordinating across squads to ensure delivery alignment with strategic priorities and budget forecasts. The PO engages in governance and prioritization to streamline operational workflows and reduce market risk and is accountable for translating the product vision into squad deliverables to achieve the product strategy, improving value to the client. This includes managing scope and the product backlog in collaboration with the squad, Product Manager, clients (internal and external), and key stakeholders.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Translate the product vision and the roadmap into squad deliverables and release plans
  • Create and refine the backlog of user stories with the squad to provide the right level of detail at the right time to achieve definition of ready (preparation for development)
  • Accept or reject backlog items, according to acceptance criteria, during the sprint
  • Seek feedback from partners and clients and incorporates into future backlog items
  • Bring the voice of the client (external/internal) into the squad
  • Cultivate relationships with the Tribe Lead and key stakeholders to identify issues, risks, and dependencies, and maintain alignment to achieve product strategy
  • Incorporate and prioritize technical work, as required, to deliver on release objectives
  • Improve product value by evaluating implementation alternatives and considering impact of changing scope on budget and estimates
  • Attend and participate in all squad meetings (example. sprint and release events)
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience


Talents Needed for Success:
  • Exhibit strong understanding of Agile Software Development (primarily Scrum and Kanban) principles and techniques
  • Understand and use applicable work management tools (i.e. JIRA) for decision making and collaboration
  • Drive creative solution-oriented activity with all participants and collaborators
  • Knowledge of financial services operations, in particular Post Trade Processing, trends and user demands
  • Complete the Product Vision and effectively translate into Product Roadmap and Backlog items to deliver the highest value
