The Systems Engineering role specializes in the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, implementation, support, and debugging of all middleware, mainframe, and distributed platforms, tools, and systems of the firm.

The Lead System Engineer is a valued member of The Distributed Middleware Services Team in the Configuration, Maintenance, And Support of various Middleware and MQ Technologies.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the various middleware technologies managed by the team with primary focus on WebSphere Business Process Manager and WebSphere Application Server.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to standard processes and procedures such as automation through scripting, programming, etc.
  • Support and Troubleshooting WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, IBM BPM, IBM MQ Tomcat application servers.
  • Support DMS PROD/PSE/QA/Dev BAU activities working with AD & Engineering teams.
  • Provide production support in evenings and weekends, if necessary in case of MIM or Technical support issues.
  • Implement planned changes after ROC or weekend as part of BAU activities.
  • Support planned DTCC weekend Disaster Recovery exercise.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to access management solutions like Ping Federate/Ping Access, IBM HIPAM, etc.
  • Load Balancing, High Availability, and Disaster recovery plans and configurations.
  • Support any new application deployed in all Dev, QA, PROD environments
  • Lead Incident, problem and change management, as needed using (ITIL) processes and ITSM tools.
  • Performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
  • Install/Update/coordinate patches for Security vulnerabilities and bug fixes for WAS/IHS/tomcat
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Talents Needed For Success:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in supporting real time production environments.
  • Extensive debugging skills and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with Middleware and MQ technologies like WebSphere, Tomcat, IBM MQ.
