The Network Monitoring tools team is responsible for overall design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the Network monitoring tools & observability solutions. Accountable for network fault, performance and configuration management including alerting, reporting functions of entire DTCC network infrastructure. The Lead Engineer supports operations, delivery, stabilization, and reliability. You will be supporting and implementing network monitoring, observability technologies, practices, automation, process improvement and product ownership/life-cycle management in the network tools space.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure monitoring tools, upgrades, implementation, provide project support and maintenance of DTCC's Network Monitoring, Alerting, Reporting & Observability applications for ensuring the health of our network systems.
  • Support larger projects and efforts within Network Tools Monitoring
  • Participate in Scheduled Disaster Recovery tests as scheduled.
  • Provide off-hours support when required and weekly on call rotation, when needed to support the production environment.
  • solving sophisticated Network Monitoring, Observability, alerting, reporting, dashboarding technology issues.
  • Implement solutions to enhance network infrastructure monitoring services.
  • Collaborate with various collaborators groups and team members to design required solutions that meet DTCC standards for security, resiliency, and reusability
  • Provide immediate support for production issues related to areas of expertise
  • Provide support for off-hour / weekend implementation and Disaster Recovery tests as required
  • Author system documentation and supporting documents to ensure transparency of design to minimize future maintenance costs
  • Deliver targeted business outcomes by participating in the technical decision-making process
  • Analyze changing business requirements to determine impact and optimal solution regarding defining the future state technical architecture
  • Follow established DTCC requirements, principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise (standard methodologies)
  • Applies knowledge of technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to contribute to the decision-making process
  • Monitor metrics to ensure system performance meets requirements
  • Ensure alignment to the governance, standards and best practices established by DTCC
  • Ensure delivered solutions enable infrastructure agility, scalability, and resilience to support required product needs throughout product lifecycle.
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; advances appropriately

Talents Needed For Success:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications:
  • Advance knowledge of networking monitoring tools, such as: SNMP v3, netflow, etc.
  • Advance knowledge of monitoring tools, such as Riverbed Steel Central Suite (Profiler, NetIM, Netplanner, AppResponse, Alluvio IQ), Broadcom Dx NetOps (Spectrum, Performance Manager, AI Ops), etc.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, UNIX/LINUX systems and monitoring protocols
  • Ability to monitor and analyze performance of Network systems using a diverse Network abilities and a variety of tools.
  • Strong Network Troubleshooting skillset in a campus & Data Center environment.
  • Unix scripting and good hands-on knowledge in any one of the following scripting languages is considered a plus for this position: Perl /Python, Ansible
