The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Infrastructure Architecture team, the Executive Director will report directly to the Head of Architecture as a senior member of the company-wide Architecture organization covering multiple key architecture subject areas including applications, platforms, data, and resiliency. This role is responsible for defining enterprise-level cloud application architecture standards, procedures, and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will lead a matrixed architecture team and work in close partnership with architecture peers, platform engineering, operations, and application development teams across multiple business units to build, develop, and deliver modernized, cloud-based solutions that are highly scalable, resilient, and secure.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Define, maintain, and govern enterprise cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and procedures.
  • Lead communications with all levels of the organization to advance architecture awareness and outcomes, maintain engagement with all sponsors and collaborators, and represent leadership role of architecture.
  • Partner with application development teams to compose and implement modernized, cloud-native applications that meet high availability, security, and performance requirements.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide authoritative guidance on cloud design patterns, integration strategies, and migration roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry-leading security standards.
  • Drive adoption of DevSecOps methodologies and tooling to improve development efficiency, quality, and speed to market.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging cloud technologies, trends, and practices, assessing their potential applicability to the enterprise.
  • Present architecture strategies, roadmaps, and decisions to senior technology leadership and executive partners.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced cloud certification preferred (AWS and Azure desirable) with substantial hands-on experience architecting and delivering cloud landing zones and large-scale cloud application deliveries and migrations of critically important multi-region platforms.
  • Experience applying new and non-traditional technologies (AI/ML, blockchain, ledger and graph databases) to solve hard problems.
  • Proven track record delivering highly scalable, resilient, and critical financial services applications.
  • Broad technical knowledge across multiple technology domains, including programming languages, networks, platforms, and on-premises architectures. Mainframe knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Over 20 years of combined, relevant proven experience in technology architecture, application delivery, and large-scale transformation initiatives.


Talents Needed for Success:
  • Hands-on experience delivering mission critical applications.
  • Hands-on experience with DevSecOps tooling and automation practices, including Jira, Jenkins, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Outstanding technical communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality architecture documentation, diagrams (Visio, draw.io), and executive presentations (PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; adept at influencing and engaging executives, senior technology leaders, and engineering teams.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to balance long-term vision with pragmatic, incremental delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading highly technical teams.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
