The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The team delivers high-quality information through activities that include development of essential, building infrastructure capabilities to meet client needs and implementing data standards and governance.

The Impact you will have in this role:
Being a member of the Information Technology business unit the Executive Director, Software Engineering, Asset Services will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to a global application development and testing team leading critical post trade systems include setting priorities, coordinating projects and resources, and reporting on group activities.
DTCC's Asset Services is a growing business dedicated to providing the industry's leading solutions for several business functions, including Securities processing, Issuer Services, Underwriting and Corporate Actions processing.
These businesses drive centralized, automated processing and information services via seamless, end-to-end communications with agents, clients and other distribution partners. In doing so, these services add to client value, reduce risk and cost and deliver operational efficiencies.
The Asset Services business lines are embarking on a modernization journey that will involve both business and industry process re-imagination, along with technology platform upgrades and enhancements.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead critical, industry-wide initiatives and represent the organization in presentations to senior DTCC leadership and external clients.
- Collaborate closely with business partners to drive transformative technology change within a complex, highly regulated, and commercially focused environment.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with business line leaders, IT teams, and operations, ensuring a deep understanding of business processes and seamless technology delivery.
- Lead, run and assess the skills in the distributed team, which is a critical aspect of our operations, and we ensure that all team members receive comprehensive training to maintain our high standards and consistently deliver exceptional results.
- Establish department-wide metrics and practices that promote a data-driven culture focused on accountability, efficiency, and quality across development and testing teams.
- Act as a catalyst for change-instilling urgency, mobilizing resources, and ensuring timely execution of critical initiatives.
- Advocate for and implement modern engineering practices, including SDET frameworks, DevSecOps, and cloud-native architectures such as AWS and Snowflake.
- Align technology initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements through close partnership with Product, Risk, and Business Operations.
- Oversee financial management activities, including tracking FTE vs. contingent labor ratios, monitoring budget adherence, and mitigating key person risk.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence across the technology organization.
- Responsible for incorporating ground-breaking technologies (e.g. AI) and devising a strategy for use of digital assets in their respective product verticals
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant language to effectively bridge communication between technology and non-technical collaborators.
- Lead and track multiple large-scale or complex projects, ensuring clear communication of status and progress across teams.
- Promote a strong risk management culture by embedding processes and controls that identify and mitigate operational and technology risks.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Experience of working with or within financial services organizations, preferably with Asset Servicing experience
- Previous experience in modernizing legacy, monolithic applications to service based, public cloud platforms, and using hybrid and distributed technologies.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of technology financials (direct / indirect spending, allocation methodologies) and the ability to manage and explain financials.
- Experience developing common delivery and quality practices across application squads.
- Ability to work well with competing priorities, manage tasks and meet deadlines on multiple efforts in parallel.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment across organizational lines and at all organizational levels, particularly with IT senior management levels.
- Excellent analytical skills as well as outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
