The OPIS User Experience Design group is a small hybrid team based in the US. We enjoy collaborating together, and also work independently on smaller projects. Our team is fortunate to work with all OPIS Divisions to help create complex data-heavy, modern web applications.

YOUR ROLE

Do you find yourself critiquing web and mobile apps? Do poorly designed products drive you crazy? What if you could create user-friendly, unique interactive products that people will enjoy and truly value? Help us inform and transform the energy world by enhancing the way our customers engage with our products and services. Get your hands on a variety of projects that will require you to devise unique solutions and solve complex information presentation and usability challenges that are never cookie-cutter.

As Lead User Experience Designer, you will work under the Director of UX Design, working closely with some of our cross-functional teams, and collaborate with other UX Designers to build high quality, scalable solutions that enable product teams to deliver great products and features to the energy market more quickly.

YOU WILL
  • Define and create UX concepts based on an understanding of the business requirements and end-user needs through research
  • Create a clear strategy from insight to action, to effectively produce a variety of outputs such as personas, journey-maps, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, hi-fi mock-ups, and prototypes
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional team members
  • Communicate user testing, research findings, conceptual ideas, and designs effectively; verbally, visually, and in writing
  • Define interaction models and evaluate success
  • Able to lead and contribute during brain-storming sessions with stakeholders and team members to define and create innovative solutions for complex problems
  • Advocate for our customer's needs, while considering any technical constraints
  • Articulate design concepts to stakeholders and team members
  • Define, maintain, and evolve components within our library and design system
  • Provide design support during development and execution to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and with the highest quality of standards, including accessibility best practices

YOU HAVE
  • Minimum of 4+ years user interface design experience for web and mobile applications
  • An analytic and visual mind with eagerness to solve complex human computer interaction problems
  • Outstanding visual design skills
  • Expertise of design tools; Figma and other UX/UI prototyping software
  • Solid knowledge of the UX/UI Design Thinking process
  • Passionate about latest design and technology trends
  • Educated in UX/UI design standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices
  • Principal understanding of complex data
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

IT'S A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE
  • Experience working in a SaaS or technology-driven company
  • Proficient in basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Design system experience
