About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer Merchant Order Experience, you’ll work with product managers, engineers, and other XFN partners to define the optimal Merchant experience for Live Order Management, from when a Merchant receives an order in their store to when that order is fulfilled.

You’ll solve challenging design problems that sit at the intersection of the physical and digital worlds, redefining how DoorDash Merchants manage orders and solve complex order problems while in the context of a busy restaurant environment. When you’re not going deep on interaction design, and solving the most pressing problems Merchants face when it comes to live order management, you’ll define the long-term strategy and vision for order management to make every Merchants’ in store operations seamless and magical. Every day, you will work with a diverse team of product managers, developers, researchers, content strategists and more, to define and build an outstanding and differentiated Merchant Order Experience.

You will report into the Design Manager for Merchant Experience. Once our offices reopen, we expect this role to be hybrid with some time in-office and some time remote.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own the user experience of products end-to-end, including contributing to product strategy, running design sprints, and crafting visions

  • Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other disciplines to build and ship your designs

  • Deliver and refine clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities

  • Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals

  • Design and ship high-quality product improvements

  • Contribute to evolving our nascent order management design system

We’re excited about you because…

  • You are a senior-level IC with 5+ years of work experience

  • You love solving the most challenging interaction design problems, and can distill simplicity from complexity

  • You enjoy ambiguous problem spaces, and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process (and the occasional design sprint)

  • You are passionate about leading product strategy and vision for new product areas

  • You skillfully balance strategy, research, interaction design, and visual design to achieve simple, elegant solutions

  • You value high quality well crafted visual design, and care about the details
