We are hiring an Associate for our Dasher Logistics team in Canada to manage the efficiency of Dashers on the road. To be specific, optimizing the number of deliveries completed by a Dasher per active hour is our key metric to monitor for this role. We expect this Associate to bring ideas to the table and take charge of their day-to-day operations to drive positive and scalable results to the business.

This individual will be tasked with finding the root cause behind the historical efficiency movements while also ensuring we have accurate future forecasting views. In tandem, they will take a solution-oriented mindset, owning end-to-end tests, rollouts, and process and/or product implementation to help achieve these forecasts.

You will work with cross-functional partners across marketing, finance, analytics, product, and engineering to deliver results. Therefore, you should have confident and clear communication skills, and not shy away from assigning actions or deliverables to other colleagues where needed. You will work with cross-border partners from our core team or other high-speed growth countries to share learnings and/or adopt their processes accordingly.

We operate in a hybrid model, and our office is located in downtown Toronto with the opportunity to travel abroad.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Analyze. You'll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions and iterate based on data. You'll build models, frameworks, processes, and much more.
  • Strategize. From first principles, you'll develop the optimal strategy for achieving efficiency in operations. You'll sign up for ambitious goals to improve the quality of deliveries.
  • Build. You'll have your fingerprints on all DoorDash operations. You'll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new.
  • Lead and collaborate. This role will lean into strategic, cross-functional projects with partners from different geos to ensure success during each quarter.
  • Experiment. Run tests and scale insights. Embrace the challenge of having multiple paths forward and no right answer. Growing a business in a competitive market will not be easy.

We're excited about you because...

  • You're an operator. You have a talent for managing complex projects, converting high-level goals into action, and converting insights into scalable processes.
  • You love data. You are excited to dig into data and can solve the toughest problems with reason and logic. You're comfortable pulling and modelling large datasets and have experience working on SQL.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in operations, technology, consulting, strategy, business development, banking, analytics, high-growth or early-stage startup experience, or related experience and a bachelor's degree or higher.
  • You can get things done. You can prioritize, communicate, execute, and synthesize - be it the result of your day-to-day or of experiments you'll run to achieve your goals.
  • You are curious. You are a learner, and can structure your thoughts, learnings, findings and wins. You work hard to understand how your work overlaps and impacts other parts of the business, and you are motivated by delivering impact.
  • You're unafraid of uncharted territory. Rapid change is exciting to you, and you excel in new environments. You are resilient and can pivot on the fly to support constantly shifting flag poles. You can operate under ambiguity and don't need perfect information to keep moving forward.
  • You're a team player. You can not only work on your key OKRs but also make room at the table, find a balance between your goals and company-wide goals.
  • You are collaborative. You will take the whole group along, you will keep everyone informed, and always proactively contribute to the team without the manager's ask.
