Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer in Test within the Dolby QA team, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of immersive media. You'll design and maintain test environments, develop robust test plans, and ensure the quality of next-generation Dolby technologies. Your work will directly contribute to delivering extraordinary experiences to audiences around the globe.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA peers to define quality goals and testing strategies
- Design and execute detailed test plans and cases across features and releases
- Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Lead testing efforts for complex systems, ensuring coverage across platforms and environments
- Perform a range of testing types including functional, regression, boundary, negative, fuzz, and performance testing
- Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with engineering teams to resolve issues
- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to code reviews to improve testability and quality
- Analyze test results, report on quality metrics, and recommend improvements
- Research and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance testing efficiency
- Support agile development processes and help drive continuous improvement in QA workflows
- Professional experience with test automation and programming and scripting.
- Fluent in Python and conversant in C++ required.
- Experience in testing latest generation video technologies.
- Knowledge of video technologies, cinema and television production and post-production workflows.
- Knowledge of HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with current software testing industry tools and standard methodologies (ASTQB)
- Experience testing in multiple software environments. Windows, OS X, Linux, required.
- Familiarity with standard bug reporting tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or ClearQuest.
- Achieve results, meet deadlines, and adjust to quickly changing priorities in a dynamic engineering environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills
- Experience in Agile/Scrum software development
- Experience testing Dolby or other products in the video domain is a significant plus
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software testing, including creating and implementing comprehensive test plans.
- Passion for visual media is a plus.
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $133,100 - $182,800, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
