We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our Interoperability Lab team, focusing on testing and validation of Dolby audio and video technologies across consumer living room devices. This role requires a passion for premium entertainment experiences and expertise in ensuring seamless integration of Dolby technologies across diverse hardware platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Create and execute comprehensive test plans for Dolby audio and video technologies on living room devices
• Perform interoperability testing across multiple device categories including TVs, soundbars, AV receivers, streaming devices, gaming consoles, and set-top boxes
• Validate end-to-end content playback workflows from source to display/audio output
• Test various content delivery methods including streaming, broadcast, and physical media

• Work closely with Dolby engineering teams to understand technology requirements and limitations
• Report and track defects using bug tracking systems

• 2 + years of experience in Engineering , preferably in consumer electronics or media technology
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of audio/video codecs, streaming protocols, and digital media formats
• Experience with HDMI, eARC/ARC, and other A/V connectivity standards
• Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript preferred)
• Familiarity with network protocols and streaming technologies (DASH, HLS, etc.)
• Familiarity with broadcast standards and OTT platforms

• Knowledge about HDMI transmission standards (HDMI v2.0 / CEC messaging / Capabilities signalization etc.).
• Experience in Web application development (JavaScript / Node.js / React.js ).
• Knowledge about player application frameworks, such as Dash.JS, Shaka-Player, ExoPlayer etc.

• Experience with content delivery networks and DRM systems is a plus

• Primarily lab-based work environment with state-of-the-art testing equipment
• Occasional travel to partner sites or industry events (10-15%)
• Hybrid work model with flexibility for remote work when not conducting hands-on testing
• Collaborative team environment with opportunities for cross-functional projects
