The Senior Facility Systems Technical Specialist will be accountable for panel design, AutoCAD drawing creation, panel build, and field support to the Disneyland Resort. A successful candidate will have the ability to execute controls work to support controls and instrumentation efforts for the Resort-wide Facility Control Systems: Thermal Energy Storage Tank, Central Plants, Resort-wide building HVAC systems, utility monitoring/metering, SCADA, lighting control, and water filtration.

You will report to the Senior Manager - Facilities Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, documentation, and sustainment of automation, controls and instrumentation of Central Energy Plants, Utility monitoring, HVAC (EMS), and water filtration plants.

Interpret engineering documentation, such as panel wiring, instrument data sheets, calibration datasheets, hardware, and software configuration in order to execute project and sustainment work and prevent or respond to downtimes.

  • Design and build control panels to UL 508A.

  • Accurately complete required projects and support maintenance and reactive maintenance work without delays.

  • Provide timely communication and status updates to Manager, Controls Engineers, and Resort partners.

  • Basic Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience building controls systems panels or related equipment.

    • Strong analytical/problem solving skills; ability to analyze cause and effect.

    • Ability to interpret P&IDs, Sequence of Operations, and drawings for Energy Management Systems (EMS), HVAC, Central Energy Plant Systems, and other Resort wide Building Management Systems (BMS).

    • Experience in wiring, troubleshooting, and testing Programmable Logic Controllers, VFDs, and digital/analog instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure transducers, temperature transmitters, RTD’s, differential pressure transducers, etc.

    • Knowledge and experience designing in CAD.

    • Understanding of wire from schematics and wire lists, electrical enclosures for Building Management and Energy Management control systems. Should have a thorough understanding of electrical shop practices, knowledge of electrical components, wire gauges, terminals, hardware and crimping tools.

    • Understanding of system-level considerations and basic mechanical principles – pumps, valves, pressurized systems, fans, compressed air and dryer systems.

    • Knowledge of various electrical circuits, instrumentation– relays, proximity switches, control valves, motors, drives, solenoids, pneumatic valves, thermistors, 4-20mA, 0-10/2-10VDC, RTDs, etc.

    • Electrical troubleshooting skills (voltmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)

    • Basic programming skills in ladder logic or structured text.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Basic understanding of Allen Bradley PLCs and/or Carrier Comfort Controllers.

    • Understanding of communication technologies/protocols: Bacnet, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc.

    • Control system theory experience (closed-loop control)

    • Fail-safe and safety-related software design and field wiring

    • Experience with monitoring electrical power distribution, energy management and lighting control systems.

    • Experience with the operation of large multi-building campuses and system wide facility controls integration.

    Required Education

    • Associate's degree in electrical engineering OR 2-4 years Trade School Technical training in electrical and controls system.

    The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $126,100.00 to $154,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
