You already know what it means to work in Mechanical Engineering but imagine using your skills at a place like Disney! You would work to support all the theme parks, waterparks, golf courses, destination shopping districts, and resorts that are spread out across over 29,000 acres. This Imagineer is responsible for mechanical engineering including design, analysis, calculations, modeling for an individual facility/attraction, land, or theme park project.

What You Will Do
- Organize and develop project design criteria and engineering work plans for projects of varying complexity.
- Monitor progress of work and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination, and production requirements are met.
- Monitor performance against the project design schedule, budget and earned value.
- Become completely familiar with and be able to edit mechanical sections of WDI master specifications.
- Solicit peer reviews of work product.
- Take responsibility for obtaining building department approvals when required.
- Answer construction bid period questions and respond to and resolve field issues and questions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 6 or more years of work experience in mechanical engineering.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems
- Solid understanding of compressible fluids such as natural gas, compressed air, steam and cryogenic systems like liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide
- Detailed familiarity with mechanical design and analysis computer programs
- Knowledge of life cycle cost and present worth analysis of mechanical systems
- A minimum of 2 years managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for construction.
- Experience designing building mechanical systems and campus-wide energy systems.
- Experience designing specialty piping systems including water, high pressure water (fog), compressed air, natural gas, steam, liquid nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and hydraulic power fluids.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active membership in ASHRAE is desirable.
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineer school.
- Professional registration in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- An advanced degree in the mechanical engineering field is preferred.

The hiring range for this position in California is $113,800 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
