Accountable for field engineering support to the Disneyland Resort and supporting departments, including sustaining engineering services for ride and show systems. These services include planning, organizing, and leading teams in troubleshooting, problem resolution, system operational enhancement, system reliability improvement, and documentation. Must have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in various fields, initiate appropriate corrective actions, and strive for resolution. Respond to mechanical emergencies resulting from Attraction downtimes at the Resort. May be responsible for small-scale mechanical projects (2-3 weeks) to support attraction improvement, replacement of obsolete parts, and/or safety-related changes.

This is a 30-month, entirely onsite Project Hire role based in Anaheim, CA, reporting to the Senior Manager of Sustaining Engineering.
What You Will Do
Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of Sustaining Engineering projects.
Communicate timely, clearly, and concisely with management, customers, partners, and cast members about work status and impact on Resort availability through various means, including email, text, and Slack.
Perform ride element performance analysis: finite element analysis, structural, dynamic, kinematic, hydraulic, and pneumatic analysis and calculations, as appropriate, for any Attraction changes supporting compliance with California ride law requirements.
Assists in resolving technical conflicts encountered in design/drawing packages with vendors and shops to ensure conformance with design documentation.
Make engineering recommendations, with proposed actions and suggested priorities, for resolving attraction operational and mechanical problems.
Produce timely creation/review of engineering design, change, repair, and disposition documents.
Accountable for the successful completion of Sustaining Engineering projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Able to balance multiple projects/assignments concurrently.
Able to communicate technical concepts in writing.
Ability to communicate sophisticated issues to non-technical peers and management.
Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Material properties experience in design.
Shown understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Systems reliability knowledge.
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University in at least one of the following fields: General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with 1+ years of confirmed engineering experience.
Preferred: Engineer-in-Training Certification (Fundamentals of Engineering).
Preferred: Postgraduate work.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $94,200.00 to $126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
