We are seeking a collaborative Master Planner to support and guide complex and innovative planning efforts across our global portfolio. The Master Planner reports to the Master Planning Executive.
You Will:
Collaborate with creative and site teams to translate creative vision into site expansion and physical layouts at different scales.
Assist Global Creative Strategy Studio team members in synthesizing data analysis into planning and design approaches to inform program options, site organization, and Menu/Master Plan development.
Apply global planning intelligence as part of creative visioning efforts for future growth and development initiatives.
Develop massing studies, circulation studies, and typology footprint analysis to understand site scenarios and development opportunities.
Manage work at different scales and levels of complexity.
Support project efforts through collaboration with various stakeholders.
Develop site layout sketches and illustrative land use/massing diagrams using multiple digital and non-digital platforms and tools to visualize planning and development scenarios.
Assist in preparing and delivering presentations to WDI and Site Portfolio stakeholders.
Apply an understanding of site development issues and constraints, including knowledge of predevelopment and planning documents and agreements.
Collaborate with Imagineering disciplines to translate site layout scenarios in the vision planning phase to inform initial design phases.
You Will Have:
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in landscape architecture or urban design.
Strategic, creative thinker with the ability to understand data analysis and strategy.
Experience working at different scales, with an emphasis on site design and planning fundamentals.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Sensitivity to synthesize cultural, environmental, and business needs.
Experience and proficiency with hand-drawn sketching, graphics, and communication skills.
Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, 3D modeling, and presentation software tools.
Skilled in conceptualizing creative concepts and iterating quickly with others to articulate site scenarios.
Experience in themed entertainment projects across multiple design phases, with emphasis on early-stage development and ideation.
Proficiency in communicating complex ideas clearly and transparently, thriving on collaborative and integrated work efforts with multiple partners.
General comprehension of storytelling and narrative-based entertainment design practices.
Experience guiding and mentoring emerging talent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Membership in one or more professional organizations such as the American Society of Landscape Architects, American Institute of Architects, and/or Urban Land Institute is desirable.
Field art direction and construction administration experience during phases of themed entertainment projects.
3-5 years of proven experience in the master planning process from initial ideation to full funding stages of design.
Project experience domestically and internationally.
Understanding of site development issues and constraints, including knowledge of predevelopment and planning documents and agreements.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four or five-year university or college in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Environmental Design, Architecture, or equivalent.
An advanced graduate degree is desirable.
Professional licensure is preferred.
