Commerce, Data & Identity provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney’s media businesses. Key Responsibilities

• Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Create scalable and efficient data processing pipelines using Apache Spark to handle large volumes of data.
• Data Enrichment Solutions: Implement processes to integrate and enhance data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Optimize Performance: Monitor and tune Spark applications for optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Ensure Data Quality: Implement data validation and cleansing procedures to maintain high data quality standards.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. 

Qualifications

• 7+ of experience in software engineering with a focus on big data processing and data enrichment.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Apache Spark and its components (Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, etc)
  • Strong programming skills in  [Java, Scala, Python]
  • Experience with big data ecosystems such as Hadoop, Hive, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms  [AWS] and their services, including cloud databases (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks Delta Lake)
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
• Software Engineering best practices
• Familiarity with Data Modeling techniques and Data Warehousing standard methodologies and practices

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, California is $152,200 to $204,100 per year, in Seattle, Washington is $159,500 to $213,900 per year, in New York, New York is $159,500 to $213,900 per year, and in San Francisco, California is $166,800 to $223,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
