Landscape Architect

They are all things that Guests enjoy at Walt Disney World’s Parks and Resorts … and they all rely on the design of a Landscape Architect.
As a Landscape Architect with Facility Asset Management (FAM), you would be a key part of an interdisciplinary team of exceptional professionals that make our Parks and Resorts show ready, safe, and brimming with Disney “magic.”
Being a Landscape Architect at Disney is different, not only because of the truly exceptional variety of our sites and landscapes, but also since our team are trusted thought-partners. FAM Landscape Architects are involved in all phases of facilities project design, coordinating with project managers, consultants, creative and operational stake-holders as owner’s representatives.
This role reports to the Manager of the Project Design Support Team.
Responsibilities / You Will
Deliver area development (hardscape, grading, planting, irrigation) across Walt Disney World through all phases—from concept and schematic design to construction documentation.
Assess project sites via field verification, research, and analysis; prepare area development base information and existing conditions.
Integrate designs with allied disciplines (infrastructure, architecture, grading/drainage, lighting, graphics, structural, horticulture, irrigation) to achieve area development intent and show quality.
Develop design packages and technical documents (base sheets, hardscape, planting, irrigation, materials schedules, specifications), using industry‑standard digital tools.
Update master plans related to irrigation and hardscape at Walt Disney World.
Design festival elements, such as garden displays and kiosk layouts, in alignment with creative direction and operational needs.
Provide direction and design oversight to consultant teams; perform peer reviews of third‑party submissions.
Manage scope, schedule, and budget to meet project objectives; communicate risks and trade‑offs proactively.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications; document decisions and rationale for non‑technical stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in landscape architectural design, master planning, or land planning.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, BIM 360 (or similar), GIS, and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel).
Broad, working knowledge of landscape architectural design, horticulture, irrigation, construction techniques and materials, infrastructure, and sustainability practices.
Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Strong communication skills with the ability to “tell the story” to non‑technical stakeholders.
Collaborative orientation with the ability to influence outcomes across disciplines.
Organized, self‑directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Landscape Architect (Florida) or actively pursuing registration.
Experience providing oversight of consultant design packages and conducting peer reviews.
Experience with theme parks, resorts, hospitality, or other complex, guest‑facing environments.
Experience maintaining master plans for irrigation/hardscape and delivering festival/seasonal landscape design.
Education Requirements
BSLA, BLA, or MLA in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
