Central Shops Service Manager

As a Shops Service Manager at our manufacturing facility, you will work on some of your favorite Disney attractions. The Central Shops team provides support to our Parks and Resorts partners across the globe. We refurbish attraction vehicles, fabricate new parts for attractions, build Walt Disney Imagineering project elements, and assist with emergency repairs.
You will report directly to our Senior Manufacturing Management team.
What You Will Do
- Provide leadership to union craft workers and develop a high level of collaboration and cooperation.
- Proactively lead the safety of your team through action, development of processes, and partnership with safety professionals.
- Demonstrate accountability for excellent safety and business results.
- Supervise the regulatory compliance of the team, ensuring all training is current and completed in a timely manner.
- Manage your area's staffing, contract compliance, vacation bid, and payroll.
- Develop and maintain the necessary maintenance programs (predictive and preventative) to support the ongoing reliability of the equipment.
- Prioritize multiple tasks successfully in a dynamic environment while under strict time constraints.
- Demonstrate excellent Central Shops Customer Service to internal partners and clients.
- Implement standard processes to ensure the quality and efficiency of your area’s performance.
- Maintain the reliability of the facility's equipment to ensure performance and availability.
- Lead root cause analysis and process improvement in your areas.
- Value and protect the Disney brand and Intellectual property.
- Regularly traverse our 300,000-square-foot facility to collaborate with active shop teams and monitor inactive shop areas.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment including direct experience in an industrial, plant, manufacturing, theme park or transportation maintenance environment
- Focus on process improvement, process flow, and production strategies
- Genuine curiosity about mentoring others and forming partnerships with your team and leaders
- Experience reading mechanical prints and 3D models
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Promote and exemplify a professional demeanor and practices on behalf of Central Shops and within your team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with a wide variety of component fabrication including welding, painting, machining, and assembly
- Experience with developing and managing Preventative Maintenance programs for various unit ops and facility based equipment. Partnering with internal and external resources to ensure that the PM steps are executed and effective.
- Experience with Warehouse management processes to develop and lead the optimization for the use of the space at the facility.
- Experience with Maximo and SAP
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or TPM principles
- Bilingual
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
