TEAM

The Customer Engagement (CE) team is focused on delivering powerful customer experiences across marketing touch points, by leveraging data and tools to bring marketing to life.  The CE team is part of the Global Marketing COE within Disney Experiences (DX) and plays a vital role in campaign activation.  The CE Advanced Analytics and BI team leads consumer analytics and business intelligence for Direct Channel marketing campaigns, focused on improving targeting, messaging, and channel strategies using data-driven insights.  We accomplish these capabilities with partnerships internally within Disney, as well with external vendors and software suppliers. 

ROLE

Members of this team should be driven by excellence and have a passion for data and analytics.  Responsible for using mix of technologies and methodologies to develop solutions that provide insights and intelligence around consumers, marketing activities, and potential opportunities that advance business objectives across a variety of online and offline marketing channels.  Must also have a passion for understanding the customer base, using data to enhance marketing efforts, and be excited to learn and champion the latest analytics and BI concepts in the data visualization, and automation spaces.  This role acts consultatively sitting between our Disney business teams and our technology partners helping to surface insights and recommendations that will improve marketing effectiveness.  This role works with leadership to elevate opportunities, mentor less senior cast, and develop solutions in partnership with other teams.

  • Strong data visualization techniques and software skill, preferably in Tableau

  • Demonstrate an ability to navigate and combine disparate data sources to answer complex business questions and visualize data that provides actionable insights
  • Have a strong process development and technical documentation skillset – be able to adhere to established development and planning standards, team processes, and sets expectations with partners in and outside the team

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall

  • Strong understanding of data processing & visualization and of business intelligence technologies, best practices, and methodologies.  Demonstrate problem-solving, organizational and time management skills. Also demonstrate critical thinking and have a strong attention to detail.  Also, must have an exploration mentality and be willing to be a leader in learning new spaces. 
  • Role breakout:      
  • Develop tools that showcase insights and business intelligence using technologies such as SQL, & Python, within the Dataiku, Snowflake, and Tableau environments
  • Mine for insights and conduct analysis of key performance indicators and trends in our first- and third-party data.  Present insights and opportunities to the CE organization
  • Build data pipelines that transform data into actionable operational dashboards, reports, and tools using data visualization techniques
  • Develop plans and timelines for individual projects by working in agile framework to deliver work products in sprints. Leverage tools such as Jira to track and catalog work and communicate progress to direct leadership
  • Mentor cast that perform supporting tasks
  • Maintain strong partnerships with key business partners within the CE organization to identify opportunities to gain and implement intelligence

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in business intelligence to include visualization and data wrangling
  • Proven experience with translating business questions into appropriate business intelligence applications that yield actionable results
  • Must show strong relationship-building and partnering skills
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau
  • Evidence of strong data wrangling and processing skills using SQL, Python and/or other processing methodologies
  • Display strong written and verbal communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent
