Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will support our Open RAN Center for Integration and Deployment (ORCID), serving a critical role in strengthening the global Open RAN ecosystem and building the next generation of wireless networks.

A Staff Data Engineer with DISH Wireless will be directly working in environments supporting automated deployment and management on a cloud native environment. This role will work directly towards collecting, extracting, transforming and making available large amounts of data for observability, analysis, and increasing availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act in a technical guidance capacity: Mentor junior engineers and new team members, and apply technical expertise to demanding programming and design problems
- Develop high-volume, low-latency, data-powered solutions utilizing current and next-generation technologies to meet evolving business needs
- Establishes standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deployment, and maintenance of information, advanced data analytics, and text mining models, and physical data persistence technologies
- Acquire big data input from numerous partners; key technologies may include Python, Elastic, Prometheus, and Kafka.
- Normalize complicated data sources to convert potentially unusable data into a format that can be efficiently used by software and/or employees; key technologies may include Spark, Nifi, Lambda
- Maintain a CI/CD pipeline for our data software to ensure we keep quality high and time to market low; key technologies may include Gitlab
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent education and experience
- 6+ years of experience in data streaming technologies such as Kafka and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in querying and designing databases with MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle SQL, or similar systems
- Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to clarify requirements and document them effectively
- Programming experience in Java, C++, Perl, Python, or advanced Shell scripting, and implementing data-powered solutions using tools like Hadoop, Hive, or Redshift
- Familiarity with machine learning, statistical modeling, and Cloud Native tools (Kubernetes, Docker), with some experience in R and Agile methodologies
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $150,125.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
