Job Description:

Responsible for leading the charge to drive technology strategy and technical capabilities for an application ecosystem. Leverage deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks to design application architecture that balances business and customer needs with technical non-functional requirements for resiliency, security and efficiency. Partners with application engineers to ensure the application ecosystem is engineered according to architecture vision and continuously evolve the architecture and application to meet changing customer and business needs. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

This is a hybrid role with Data Architect responsibility along with Engineering aspect of maintaining enterprise data modelling tools and their Jenkins pipelines. Role is in the purview of Data Governance and Data compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Sr. Product Owner(s) to develop product vision and strategy and align product vision with technology strategy
  • Independently oversees the design process for an application
  • Coaches' other architects to develop product quality strategy including nonfunctional requirements, such as reliability, availability, and security
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks
  • Trains others in solution design patterns
  • Coaches' internal technology communities and are actively engaged in understanding and researching modern technologies and patterns
  • Responsible for working with different business & data stakeholders and designing & maintaining data models leveraging enterprise tools.
  • Contributing towards adoption of data modelling standardisation across lines of business.
  • Maintains data modelling tools with support from Enterprise teams, including upgrades to the core product and its plug-ins.
  • Responsible for automating data model creation/updates via CI pipelines and processes

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelors - Computer Science or related
  • Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture or related
  • Experience in designing & maintaining data models leveraging enterprise tools.
  • Experience in working with different business & data analytics teams with data-first approach.
  • Knowledgeable on data management, data governance, analytical tools.
  • Experience with creating & managing data contracts, including OpenAPI documentation for REST APIs
  • Experience with data modelling tools like Hackolade and data migration tools like Liquibase, Flyway.
  • Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, OracleDB, (and Mongo Atlas is a plus)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools like Jenkins, creating & managing pipeline
  • Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus architecture scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Cloud-based technology experience - AWS, OpenShift
  • Extreme automation mindset as it pertains to testing and build/deploy concepts.
  • CI/CD Pipeline experience via Jenkins
  • Experience with version management tools, like Github, and Git command-line is a plus.
  • Ability to work closely with a business initiative owners and product owners.
  • Expertise in domain driven design, test automation and capable of forming a deep understanding of our underlying frameworks and languages.
  • Experience as part of an Agile engineering or development team, and use of tools like JIRA
  • Strong experience working with a relational database and NoSQL database.
  • Payment industry experience is a plus
