Purpose of Role
The RTM & On-Trade wholesale channel has a major strategic importance in realizing our long term objectives for the Benelux & Nordics business. This role is instrumental to accelerate, streamline, and implement the Wholesale strategy for the On-trade business. Next to that, this role will lead the wholesale KAM team of 6 people which is playing a critical part in our ambition to win in the On Trade, Independent Off Trade and E-Commerce Channel.
The role will have a full responsibility of all On Trade wholesale, Cash & Carry and E-Commerce customers in the channel across the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark, handling a customer base of more than 50m EUR net sales value. You will nurture the end to end strategy, the performance management, and the team management across the geography.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the commercial agenda for the On Trade channel across the region, delivering financial and performance targets through robust annual channel and customer plans.
- Inspire and develop a high-performing team of Key Account Managers and a Sales Assistant - fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and results.
- Build strategic customer partnerships with key wholesalers and Cash & Carry customers, co-creating Joint Business Plans with clear deliverables and measurable outcomes.
- Champion brilliant execution of customer plans by enabling sales activation through field sales teamwork, data-led decisions, and seamless implementation.
- Act as a key commercial partner, working cross-functionally with field sales and customer marketing to deliver standout initiatives that drive both customer and brand growth.
- Drive future-focused growth, identifying new partnership opportunities and maximising digitalization, net revenue management, and scalable models across markets.
- Ensure Diageo is known for excellence in customer service - easy to work with, agile, and relentlessly focused on delivering value.
About You
- Ideally 8+ years' sales experience in FMCG environment, of which minimum 5 in key account management. Direct exposure to marketing is a plus.
- Strong commercial understanding of the Benelux retail environment, ideally within the Horeca segment.
- Inspiring leadership - previous people management experience and strong coaching skills.
- Customer & Relationship Management - excellent relationship-building and resolution skills, with strong persuasive, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
- Strategic Commercial Thinking - P&L literacy with strong numerical and analytical skills.
