Purpose of Position
The Manager - Packaging Productivity will play a key role in driving the successful execution of packaging tramlining and productivity initiatives. The role encompasses optimizing designs, processes, suppliers, and mechanisms to deliver cost-effective, fit-for-purpose packaging solutions aligned with consumer expectations. The incumbent will ensure timely business delivery against financial and operational targets.

• Approve trial plans, timelines, and minor adjustments with units/vendors.
• Decisions on sample evaluation and technical validations within SOPs
• Suggest process, design, or supplier improvements for cost, quality, or consumer relevance.
• Advise on project prioritization based on savings and business impact.

FY26: Savings / Delivery target - ₹30 Cr
FY27/28: Savings / Delivery target - ₹50 Cr
Market / Function Complexity
The role requires interaction with multiple stakeholders:
- Internal Supply Function: Manufacturing, Sourcing, Project Teams, HO, OQC, Units
- Internal Non-Supply Functions: Marketing, Sales, Planning, Finance
- External Stakeholders: Packaging material suppliers, external agencies, and institutes
Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of packaging productivity and tramlining projects.
- Drive alignment between internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Sourcing, Project Management, Marketing, Sales, Planning, Finance) and external partners (suppliers, agencies, institutes) to achieve project objectives.
- Act as the single point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring clear communication, ownership, and accountability across teams.
- Mentor and guide internal project teams on best practices for packaging design, validation, and process optimization.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, cost optimization, and consumer-centric innovation within packaging initiatives.

Paper & boards 25-30% Full
- Coordinate with units and vendors for the commercialization of Project Atlantis (OC reuse).
- Ensure smooth execution of productivity initiatives.
- Achieve F26 - F27 delivery targets
Closure 15-20% Full
- Coordinate with units and vendors for productivity projects, including alternative cap development such as DBW Pilot.
- Ensure commercial control and smooth execution of projects.
- Target annualized savings potential
Implementation of productivity projects 20-30% Full
- Support and follow up on alternate vendor development and horizontal implementation of productivity projects.
- Ensure timely execution and alignment with project objectives.
- Target annualized savings potential
Technical Validations 15-20% Partial
- Coordinate with vendors and units for trial lot sample qualification for productivity projects.
- Manage estimates, purchase orders, and follow-up for online and transit trials at units.
- Support capturing trial data and assist in drafting specifications and releasing technical specifications.
Glass / PET Shrink wrapping project 20-25% Full
- Support and coordinate with units and vendors for productivity projects, including shrink wrapping and inner removal.
- Ensure pilot readiness and maintain commercial control throughout the project.
- Target annualized savings potential aligned with project objectives.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science; Postgraduate Diploma / Degree in Packaging from Indian Institute of Packaging preferred.
8-10 years of relevant experience in Packaging, Manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries (Glass, PET, Paper & Paperboard, Packaging Material Printing).
3-5 years' experience in a technical development or manufacturing role is preferred
