Sr. Analyst, Growth Operations

About the Role:

The Sr. Analyst, Growth Operations supports the Growth Operations Team in building the systems, tools and processes required to automate and streamline RGM (Revenue Growth Management) reporting to deliver against the Commercial Growth Team agenda for US Spirits. The Analyst of the Commercial Growth Operations Team will play an important role in support of the Growth Operations Director and Managers.

Complexity of Role:
  • Utilize Commercial data, tools, and measurement metrics to support Commercial Growth & RGM teams
  • Leverage knowledge of RGM data, their nuances, and system interdependencies to create new tools
  • Build understanding of commercial business, sales, distributor and broker management and must understand the needs/challenges of the divisions/distributors/brokers.
  • Ability to work on ad-hoc projects from start to finish; keeping key stake-holders updated
  • Track record of success working within a matrixed organization and developing deep relationships with key commercial stakeholders at all levels, in service of delivering strong business performance.


Decision Making:

Growth Operations
  • Continue to Build out Tools Required to Automate and Streamline RGM Reporting & Capabilities
  • Support the larger team with Consistent & Standardized Pre & Post Evaluation of Investment Activity
  • Establish cross functional relationships between Commercial Growth Operations and field RGM
  • Drive Cross-Divisional Best-Practice Sharing and Capability Building


Financial:

This role will have limited influence on market-level budgets (including trade spend, promotional investments and fixed spend).

Management Responsibility:
This role reports into the Sr. Manager, Growth Operations and supports the larger Growth Operations Team consisting of a Director and Manager.

Key Outputs:
  • Support Growth Operations Team in delivery of reporting and tools to enable larger Growth Team (Insights & Planning) to build and inform Growth plan for the business
  • Liaise with Data & Technology partners to scope reports and tools for automation projects; ensure automated solutions are fit for purpose among Commercial user group.
  • Lead standardization, automation, and enhancement of tools to support pricing / promotion analytics agenda, including data from inside and outside of industry. Obtain and integrate data across value chain enabling delivery of Diageo's trade and promotional spend strategy.
  • Provide pricing and spend analytics and reporting to support Exec, Global, Pricing Delivery Team, Brand Teams, Sales/Divisions, Finance.
  • Support markets to cross-functionally develop and execute holistic growth plans backed by the right trade investments which drive a sustainable balance of volume, price, and mix growth utilizing the outputs from RGM insights, specifically key learnings from Promotional M&E effectiveness.


Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • 1-2 years of CPG experience preferably within Beverage Alcohol
  • Requires strong knowledge of Excel, PowerBI (or comparable tool), data transformation, and modeling.
  • Prior experience with Data Visualization


Acquired Functional Skills
  • Commercial experience, preferably in Consumer Product Goods
  • Knowledge of Distributor Management / Operations (three-tier system)
  • Experience with Key Customer Management (either Regional or National)
  • Knowledge of / Comfort with: Analytics, Category Management, Financial Metrics
  • Ability to operate equally effective in both a strategic environment with Senior Leadership, as well as with a detail oriented, operational and executional focused audience.
  • Proficient in analytical problem-solving, demonstrates strong mathematical aptitude.
