About the role
The Scotch Planning Improvement Lead (DRP/MPS/MRP) plays a critical role in advancing Diageo's digital and supply chain excellence journey. This role is responsible for driving digital adoption, change management, process improvement, data governance and quality, as well as leadership and stakeholder collaboration within the Scotch category supply planning function.

Act as the category expert for advanced supply planning, ensuring system functionalities align with business needs through training, troubleshooting, and adoption support. Additionally, the Scotch Planning Improvement Lead is responsible for executing global master data standards and governance frameworks within the function. You ensure that master data is maintained accurately and in compliance with global standards.
Collaboration is key in this role to drive effective change management; therefore, the Scotch Planning Improvement Lead works closely with various stakeholders across planning teams, global process owners, project teams, and planning & logistics teams to uphold data integrity and drive continuous improvement.
Role responsibilities
Systems & Digital Adoption
- Be the Key User for Digital Tools: Ensure seamless functionality and serve as the primary liaison between planning function users and global teams. Address technical and process-related issues, lead troubleshooting activities, and actively participate in the Global and Local Key User Networks.
- Drive Adoption and Effectiveness: Promote best practices to enhance planning effectiveness and adoption of our tools. Ensure that all end-users follow set governance standards to ensure process and digital compliance. Monitor compliance with key procedures and parameters, proactively addressing any deviations to maintain operational efficiency and system accuracy.
- Train and Support Users: Enable teams to adopt new tools through training and guidance and provide ongoing system support for both new and existing users. Guide and support stakeholders on system best practices to improve capabilities and adoption.
- System improvements: Drive system enhancements by defining priorities, engaging stakeholders, and overseeing successful adoption.
Change Management & Process Improvement
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyse process performance, identify areas for improvement, lead enhancements, manage waste force programs to prevent recurring issues through proper root cause analysis. Develop & roll out training and documentation for new processes/tools. Collaborate with planning teams to align improvement initiatives with operational needs.
- Lead and roll out Supply Chain Maturity Assessment: Initiate functional improvements and conduct loss analysis to achieve and sustain higher level of maturity and uphold global standards.
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish Data Governance Framework: Establish data governance policies and procedures; ensure compliance and consistency across various planning tools and teams. Ensure parameter settings align with global standards, operating strategies, and SLAs for category and markets.
- Monitor and Improve Data Quality: Define key metrics to assess data quality, implement regular audits, and corrective actions to ensure accuracy and compliance. Translate business requirements into effective planning parameters and processes in Tier processes.
Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Optimise Planning & Execution: Define planning strategies and align with cross-functional teams to drive execution, coordinate business transformation programs/initiatives, and ensure seamless integration of data and systems across planning teams by delivering through others.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with teams across various functions. Work closely with planners to assess capabilities, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Effective Change management: Define change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and tools.
Experience / skills required
- Demonstrated passion for digital technologies.
- Expertise in supply chain planning (preferably within DRP/MRP/MPS) with in-depth knowledge of planning systems (OMP and SAP) and processes.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills; with attention-to-detail.
- Ability driving change and building capability within teams. Promotes best practices within their team and with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relationship-building/teamwork across diverse geographies and cultures.
- Flexible, agile, and resilient, with a proactive approach to completing deliverables.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving in unstructured environments.
- Ability to meet deadlines and key project milestones.
