Purpose of Role:

The project manager will enable the realization of significant long-term benefits through their leadership of the Diageo South, West and Central Africa (SWC) market. By leading engagement, deployment and change of the global solution within their market across all levels of their organization, the role will drive adoption of new processes, data & technology solutions with a focus on three key areas:

The project manager will create, execute and manage a market deployment and change plan that drives end user adoption of Voyager driven changes for the market. The project manager will bring SWC leadership on the Voyager change journey, engaging and influencing managers & leaders within their organisation to pro-actively drive adoption of new processes, systems, ways of working & achieve operational stability from go live. They will ensure Voyager is integrated within strategy & planning within their market / function. The project manager will create & execute the change journey for the employees in the SWC market, ensuring local users understand, feel confident and are ready for the transition to new technology solutions, enhanced data, simplified processes and new ways of working.

The project manager will report to the Finance Director with a dotted line into the Voyager Regional Business Deployment Lead. The role will collaborate with the wider programme team - for example, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Data Support and Testers to execute deployment, change plans and support training activities. They will also support the management and delivery of the local testing plans and ensure that local data migration is validated. Main stakeholders are end users, managers and market leaders. Main Voyager programme stakeholders are Regional Business Deployment Lead, Regional D&T Lead, Regional Change Lead, Regional Training Lead, Regional Data Lead and Regional Functional D&T Leads.

Key Accountabilities

Create, execute and manage a deployment and change plan that drives end user adoption of Voyager-driven changes for the market including the following:
  • Overall responsibility for the successful deployment of the Voyager programme for their Market, aligned to the global implementation timeline. The role is responsible for clarifying Market specific open points/challenges to the Regional Business Lead.
  • Engagement & influence of market leadership: ensure consistent understanding of Voyager (e.g. scope, benefits, changes, timelines, etc.) across the relevant leadership team, resulting in 1) positive, pro-active sponsorship of the programme to their teams & 2) full integration within the business plan.
  • The project manager will develop a deep understanding of the business & the voyager business transformation to enable them to confidently articulate how process, system and data changes will impact their teams. Working with the wider Voyager Project team, they will build and lead execution of change mitigation activities and plans (e.g., communications, training) with the goal of ensuring adoption of process & system solutions from go live.
  • Design & execute engagement & communication strategy to communicate changes, benefits, and plans to end users, leveraging relevant channels e.g., Viva Engage, email, Town Halls, face to face briefings & local networks for support. Establish a two-way mechanism, ensuring effective communication to & from the market to identify & mitigate emerging challenges.
  • Support Regional Training Lead in conducting the training needs assessment for the SWC Market.
  • Support the localization and validation of end user role mapping for the SWC Market, ensuring people have the right system access at the right time to sustain day to day operational activities and do their job effectively. Through partnership with and guidance from the Global team, evaluate the segregation of duties and SARBOX analysis, ensuring end user compliance with local regulations
  • Coordinate & report local readiness activities leveraging globally provided tools. Activities include:
    • Management of local test plan and resources for User Assessment Testing (UAT)
    • Support in UAT, as required
    • Validation of test scenarios, as required
    • Validation of local data quality and migration, in alignment with global data strategy, as required
    • Provision of local input into Readiness Assessment


Qualifications / Experience
  • 10+ years' management experience across one or more of the following functions: Finance, Shared Services, Supply, Technology, Change
  • Experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with and through others to ensure delivery of project outcomes.
  • Experience in leading and implementing change management initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Flexible and open to change; able to adjust to priorities based on change impacts.
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills - can impactfully deliver a message to the intended audience (complexity, detail, altitude).
  • Proficient in using a variety of tools to develop plans and communications content - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Yammer, Teams, etc.
