Job Title: Project Manager, Innovation Commercialization Specialist

Report to: Manager, Canada Commercialization

Context / Scope:

The North American Innovation & Brand Change team is responsible for the end-to-end cross functional oversight and delivery of Innovation and Renovation from Gate 1 to Launch! Delivering programs on time, in full, and on budget while hitting COGS targets and maintaining quality is paramount. Sitting within the Supply Chain Planning & Logistics (SCP&L), the Innovation and Brand Change team is a business partner to the rest of NA Supply, Innovation, Commercial and Brand Marketing. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of multiple programs of varying complexity at any within Diageo Canada, across Innovation, global brand renovations and cost optimization projects!

Purpose of Role:
  • Provide Project Management leadership to support the delivery of Diageo Canada's Pipeline.
  • Lead project teams made up of cross functional leads in Supply and Demand to meet the following critical metrics, as committed to at Gate 5:
  • Global Critical Metrics - Perfect Project Delivery
    • On time - measured by meeting MAD (Material Availability Date)
    • In full - measured by service fulfillment
    • On budget - measured by keeping within approved origination cost
    • On Quality - measured by meeting Diageo's Global Finished Products Standard
  • Local Critical Metrics - Michelangelo (artwork system) SLA.
  • Investigate into project risks, develop mitigation plans, and bring solutions to commercialization challenges.
  • Ensure new product development and launches comply to Diageo methodologies (Navigate, I&BC Excellence).


Top Accountabilities:
  • Manage delivery of programs from Gate 1 through to 90 days post-launch against critical metrics.
  • Provides Supply input and commercial grounding during project development phases, driving resolution of commercialization hurdles that may arise and handling regular project communications to Supply and Demand project sponsors, Technical Operations and the broader Supply community.
  • Build great relationships with partners in NA Demand and throughout the Supply organization.
  • Apply strong project management skills to develop and handle project timelines, addresses technical and resourcing challenges and ensures risk profiles and mitigation plans are developed and completed for each project.
  • Consistently demonstrate pride and dedication to Diageo, behave authentically, focus on finding solutions, and develop positive relationships across the organization.


Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • 3+ years of Technical and Professional development experience in consumer package technology.
  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related Technical field, with knowledge of product commercialization.
  • Strong eye for business (w/awareness of data analytics), communication, interpersonal, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplined team in a very fast paced environment, with the ability to manage, provide leadership and cut-through in the face of great ambiguity.
  • Successful candidates will have technical experience and performance leadership skills, multifaceted cross-functional interaction and effective project management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Theoretical knowledge of primary package design, liquid development, and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Role requires 10 - 20% domestic (as needed).
