Over half of Diageo's 30,000+ people work in Supply Chain and Manufacturing. It's an intricate and sophisticated operation that's the product of logistical, manufacturing, and technical collaborations.

We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in North West England, producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Significant investment is underway at both of these locations.

This role is site based at Runcorn which is an 18 Acre site running a 24/7 Operation with 4 rotational crews. It has 2 Bottling, 2 Canning lines and 1 Kegging production line. There are 90+ SKUs with 16 different Beer/Liquid types covering producing on average 23million cases of product per annum.

About the Role

The Material Planner and Production Scheduler acts as a key link between the plan, source, make, and move functions, ensuring the seamless delivery of our supply and scheduled production plans that meet both business and customer needs.

At Diageo, we are open to supporting our employees through flexible working where possible, however, for this role, the preference would be for the successful candidate to spend the majority of their working week on site at Runcorn. This will enable close collaboration, the development of strong stakeholder relationships, and the building of meaningful connections that support effective teamwork and successful delivery of business objectives.

Success in this position will be achieved through strong partnerships and strict adherence to supply and scheduling planning processes for operations across Ireland and the UK, aligned with the objectives of the Beer Category.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Call off materials by liaising with external European suppliers to ensure execution of short to mid-term production plans across all Beer Category material suppliers (Cans, Glass, Board, Closures, and Widgets).

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and external suppliers to facilitate and reconcile supplier invoices in line with SLAs, payment terms, and legal obligations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels, leveraging these connections to deliver the Beer Category strategy.

  • Lead and implement dry goods inventory holding plans to control material stock levels and minimise write-off costs across all supplied markets.

  • Play a leading role in running and improving the business through Global Supply Chain projects, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and Product Innovation and Renovation processes, balancing flexibility with commitments to service, cost, and quality.

  • Ensure transparent, cross-functional communication of forward plans across the supply chain, including Procurement, Packaging, Brewing, and Logistics.

  • Contribute to delivering excellent customer service standards to all global markets.

About You

We're looking for someone who can bring expertise, collaboration and a passion for delivering excellence within our supply chain operations.

  • BSc in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.

  • APICS qualified or equivalent certification.

  • Experience within supply chain planning, ideally within an FMCG environment.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Demand and Supply Planning, Operations, Logistics and Route to Market is desirable.

  • Shown stakeholder leadership skills with a successful track record of leading within a planning function.

  • Excellent IT and numerical skills, with the ability to leverage systems such as SAP ECC6, SAP APO SNP, Business Warehouse and BEX Analyser.

If you don't tick every box, please don't be put off applying - we're always interested in hearing from people with different experiences and backgrounds who can bring fresh perspectives to our team.
