Job Profile: Marketing and Media Effectiveness Specialist
Objective of the Role:
The Marketing and Media Effectiveness Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, trend mapping, and subsequent measurement of all activities aimed at our consumer audiences. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the marketing and media strategies are both data-driven and outcome-focused.
This position is also responsible for accompanying the execution process and ensuring that brand plans across traditional and digital media channels are implemented 100% as intended. The role requires continuous collaboration with internal teams and external partners to maintain alignment and execution excellence.
Additionally, this role will handle financial control processes related to marketing investments, ensuring budget accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while working closely with the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Annual Media Planning Support:
- Assist in the annual planning of media strategies, bringing to bear tools like Catalyst and Sensor to ensure a data-driven approach..
- Work closely with marketing and media teams to establish clear objectives and critical metrics for each brand campaign.
Operational Campaign Monitoring:
- Coordinate with the Media OTIF team to guarantee that campaigns are driven as budgeted and planned, maintaining full compliance and efficiency.
- Proactively address any deviations, bringing to bear data insights to adjust tactics for improved campaign execution/performance.
Budget Execution Analysis:
- "Analyze brand budget performance, ensuring an optimal balance between media mix and quarterly (Q) or half-year (H) planning as originally set.
- Identify any variances and suggest corrective actions to maintain financial rigor.
Financial Management and Control
- Administer the end-to-end financial process for marketing investments, including purchase orders, reconciliations, and monthly closings.
- Supervise actuals vs. planned budget, identifying underspend/overspend risks and proposing timely corrective actions.
- Ensure financial compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements.
- Partner closely with the Finance team to guarantee accuracy, clarity, and alignment in all budget-related processes.
- Provide visibility of financial performance and forecasts to senior collaborators, connecting budget execution with marketing outcomes.
Performance Metrics and Efficiency Tracking:
- Ensure that all media channels have clear, measurable metrics related to campaign efficiency and effectiveness.
- Connect financial outcomes with brand health metrics to provide a comprehensive view of performance..
Non-Working Media Definition:
- Assist in defining the non-working media for each brand, ensuring that the agency aligns with business guidelines.
- Track agency compliance with established benchmarks and guidelines.
New Media Investment Channels:
- Stay up to date with emerging media channels and work with the Head of Media to integrate these into the broader media strategy.
- Provide insights into channel performance and identify areas for optimization.
Marketing Effectiveness Focus:
- Continuously evaluate, analyze, and optimize marketing strategies to ensure efficient resource use and that campaigns meet their objectives.
- Measure Return on Investment (ROI) and the achievement of critical metrics, identifying which tactics work best and how to improve future initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with teams from sales, brand, and finance to align marketing objectives with the company's overall goals.
- Facilitate open communication to ensure that marketing activities are integrated across all departments.

- Prepare detailed reports on campaign performance and marketing effectiveness, communicating key insights to collaborators.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize current and future directions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
- Proven experience in media planning, digital marketing, and data analysis.
- Proficiency with media measurement tools like Impetus, Sensor, and sophisticated analytics & measurement platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sophisticated data sets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
