About The Role
We are seeking a Market Category Analyst, Logistics to join our team based in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office in Scotland. This role plays a key part in delivering procurement outcomes across Global Brand Supply Procurement, supporting our logistics category through data management, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
As a Market Category Analyst, you will provide vital support to Category Specialists and Category Managers by delivering insights and data-driven recommendations that enable effective sourcing decisions. This includes developing subject-matter expertise within logistics and providing consistent, high-quality analytical support across all geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the global procurement community across one or more spend categories, contributing to strategy alignment, capability development, and best practice sharing.
- Ensure local procurement data aligns with Diageo's global standards and is readily accessible for decision-making.
- Support monthly reporting and performance tracking to help handle supplier performance effectively.
Provide analytical and administrative support across logistics categories and geographies, including but not limited to:
- Vendor change management (new SSH setups across all regions)
- Support for Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) processes
- Ad hoc data and analytical requests within logistics categories
- E-sourcing event support (e.g. compiling volumes, pricing, technical data)
- Pinnacle scorecards and administrative tasks
- Maintenance of buyer matrices
- Sedex report review and actions
- Preparation of Category SMT and supplier review packs
- Month-end and annual standard setting reporting support
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for relevant systems (as required)
- Project support across logistics category initiatives
Additionally, you will be responsible for ocean freight management, which includes:
- New route creation, route changes, carrier rate updates, and transit time adjustments
- Addressing customer queries and supporting ad hoc logistics requests
- Supporting ocean freight tenders and related procurement events
This is a dynamic and impactful role offering exposure to a global procurement function, providing opportunities to grow analytical, commercial and stakeholder engagement skills in a fast-paced environment.
About You
You're a data-driven, diligent professional with a passion for procurement and logistics. You enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and are excited to support strategic sourcing decisions through meaningful analysis.
You will ideally bring:
- A graduate qualification or equivalent experience in Procurement, Finance, FMCG Commercial or related field
- Experience working across supply markets or spend categories relevant to the role
- A track record of contributing to cross-functional and cross-market projects
- Strong analytical and financial awareness, with an understanding of AOP requirements and value drivers
- Commercial acumen and the ability to generate insights that influence decisions
You're confident using tools such as:
- SAP, PRDM, MS Office and other collaboration or sourcing systems
- Reporting platforms and dashboards to monitor KPIs and supplier performance
You'll also bring:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present clearly to stakeholders
- Experience delivering results within structured, end-to-end processes (e.g., Source-to-Pay)
- Experience working within KPI-led performance structures and adhering to core standards
- A commitment to continuous learning
