PAY RATE: $15.18/hour. $1/hour differential for overnights.
WORK LOCATION: Plainfield, Illinois
SCHEDULE: Shifts are currently allocated by seniority, new employees start with the overnight, 6 pm to 6 am. Rotational Panama shifts of 12-hours. 24/7 operation.
About the role

In this role you will promote and lead a spirit of "Safety First" in all other areas of the operation! The ability to address problems and work in highly effective teams is essential for success. As a self-motivated member of the Diageo Plainfield Team, you will provide support, training and mentor to your fellow team members, and encourage and engage others. You will have the opportunity to also work closely with multi-functional departments (Operations, Processing, Asset Care, Quality, and Logistics) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the facility. A few more things:
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
- General manual work
- Unstacking/stacking and building pallets
- Placing bottles into boxes
- Cut straps and plastic
- Cleaning and / or re-working bottles and labels
- Line quality inspection
- Adding additional items to bottles/ boxes i.e. stickers, ribbons, designs etc.
- Perform all responsibilities in compliance with safety, sanitation, quality and housekeeping rules.
- Clean machinery to maintain optimum machine performance. This may include using tools to: scrape, wipe, sweep, squeegee.
- Repair substandard packages. This may include relabeling bottles, restacking boxes on pallet.
- Loading equipment with packaging supplies. This may include lifting overhead, regularly lifting to 50 lbs.
- Moving and dumping garbage and recycling containers. This may include lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), perform tasks per the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and follow general housekeeping guidelines and rules for Food Safety Regulations. Keep area updated with 5S.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Aspects:
Lifting - Minimum: 20 lbs constantly - Maximum: 100 lbs occasionally
Repetitive Motion - Frequently manipulating controls on forklift. Constant entering and exiting forklift
Dexterity - Frequent manipulating controls on forklift. Frequent completion of paperwork
Climbing - Minimal
Standing/Sitting - Constant sitting. Frequent standing. Occasional bending
Walking - Frequent
Pushing - Frequent to close overhead dock and trailer door and to operate cleaning equipment.
Pulling - Constant pulling overhead to get on and off forklift, Frequent pulling overhead to close trailer and dock doors. Frequent pulling to raise dock plates.
Vibration - Constant vibration from forklift operation.
Environment - Indoor, outdoor; subject to the following:
Extreme cold, including icy conditions
- Extreme heat and humidity
- Occasional in climate weather
- Noise
- Wet, slippery
* Lifting is performed with assistance of other workers / equipment
About you
You will be responsible for:
- Perform all job functions safely.
- Must regularly lift, push or pull up to +50 lbs
- Regularly exposed to a noisy, wet environment.
- Work in and around moving machinery, moving vehicles.
- General proficiency in English
You will need:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Excellent communication skills demonstrated partnership capability and can-do attitude.
- Flexibility to adapt to different shift working practices and patterns.
