Reporting into the Commercial Head of Off-Trade Netherlands, as Junior Key Account Manager Retail you have direct accountability for Diageo's partnership with various Superunie members, one of Diageo Netherlands' largest customers and a key contributor to the performance ambition of our business.

You develop strategic and differentiated joint business plans that drive category & brand strategies across the Diageo Spirits & RTD portfolio and deliver winning solutions for Diageo, customers, shoppers, and consumers.

You work closely with diverse cross-functional teams, including Category Development, Customer Activation, RGM, Commercial Finance, and Supply Chain to deliver commercial outcomes critical to the overall performance of the Diageo Northern Europe business.

Role Responsibilities

  • Shape and implement the growth strategy for various Superunie members in the Netherlands - balancing vision with delivery of commercial targets (NSV, Market Share, GM & Cash).
  • Develop and implement winning joint customer business plans that are grounded in value creation and drive mutual, sustainable growth.
  • Build and own strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Category Development, Customer Activation, RGM, and Commercial Finance teams to build effective commercial strategies in areas including portfolio, pricing, promotion, and activation.
  • Analyse diverse category data sets to interpret trends, discover insights, and identify future growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Supply Chain teams to provide accurate forecasting to ensure the right product is in the right place, at the right time.
  • Lead negotiations with the Superunie members, covering promotional plans and marketing investments.


About you:
  • Leadership: Experienced in key account management for the retail channel within consumer goods or related industries. A diverse set of backgrounds is encouraged.
  • Min 3 years experience in a commercial a/o key account management role, ideally in consumer goods or related industries
  • Collaboration: Cross-functional experience is beneficial; teamwork is vital.
  • Strategic Planning: Confirmed ability to develop and implement plans that drive growth.
  • Financial Competence: Strong analytical skills with financial competence required.
  • Communication & Relationships: Excellent interpersonal skills for building internal and external relationships.
  • Negotiation Skills: History of securing mutually beneficial agreements successfully.
  • Adaptability & Innovation: Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with an entrepreneurial mentality.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Dutch & English (verbal & written).
