About the role

The Diageo Central Eastern Europe (CEE) Finance team (which supports Eastern Europe, Benelux, Nordics, Poland, Greece) is central to the delivery of key business objectives and targets across the P&L, Balance Sheet and market share in Europe. The team is made up of respected business partners to their collaborators inside and outside of the function and work to shape the future of our business.

The role of Head of Marketing Finance & Strategy will drive excellent decision making across the Consumer and Customer Marketing Teams, support the business in setting and realising its strategy, influence the AOP process with planning the building blocks, with a particular focus on the Dynamic value creator area of the Finance Mission:

The successful candidate will play a key role in handling and optimizing CEE's total A&P budget. This role will partner the CEE Brand Marketing and CEE Customer Marketing teams to ensure we have a clear understanding of drivers of spend to enable this investment to be optimized and deployed with agility. Part of the role will also be to drive optimization of the A&P process and continuous improvement. Influencing the CEE Leadership team is also a key enabler of driving the business to its next growth phase.
Top Accountabilities

Functional:
  • Provide decision support to the customer and consumer marketing teams, which will improve return on investment, Net Sales Value, Gross Profit, Gross Margin %, CAAP and CAAP Margin%.
  • Partner with marketing & customer marketing teams on their A&P budget, seeking out greatest opportunities for growth.
  • Partner with CEE Finance team & related functions (Commercial Finance, Finance Controls, RGM team, etc.) to bring together the Brand/Category/Portfolio perspective with the Country/Channel perspective and assess the right prioritization and optimization choices.
  • Guarantee quality A&P budget management, giving confidence to the wider CEE business on A&P accuracy and correct spending in line with strategy.
  • Partner with marketing teams to implement high quality measurement and evaluation of our marketing activities.
  • Identify and implement A&P process improvements on A&P/finance projects.
  • Use insightful analysis to identify business opportunities.
  • Present analysis to the teams and then subsequently empower the team around delivering against them.
  • Support the strategic planning and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure the appropriate governance and controls are in place for all investment and best in class process, data and tools are available to support decision making.

  • Excel, Anaplan, SAP system knowledge, PowerBI familiarity. VBA macros are a plus.
