About the role:

This role is focused on driving commercial effectiveness through the strategic use of technology and data within Global Travel. With Trade Promotion Management (Anaplan Vision) and Business Performance Management now deployed and operational, this role will play a critical part in evolving how these tools and related processes enable accurate planning, trusted insights, and smarter trade investment decisions.

The role sits at the intersection of commercial technology and business process optimization, working cross-functionally with team members in Commercial Finance, RGM, IBP, FP&A and D&T. It offers the opportunity to shape the future of trade promotion management (TPM) and commercial performance forecasting. Additionally, this role will take a leading role in representing GT and partnering with Global Sales and D & T to deliver integrated process and technology solutions for future TPM solutions, contract lifecycle management, (CLM), and order-to-cash (OTC).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Trade Promotion Management (TPM - Anaplan Vision)
    • Own BAU support including management of Change, Incident, and Access Requests
    • Drive adoption of Vision with change champions; ensure training for new users
    • Partner with FP&A and BAU teams to identify and resolve data discrepancies across Anaplan Vision, Anaplan GTME (Financial Reporting), and DDH
    • Collaborate with Commercial Excellence team and stakeholders (RGM, Commercial Finance) to evolve Vision capabilities in line with business needs
  • Diageo Data Hub (DDH) - Data Lake
    • Oversee access and issue resolution processes in collaboration with D&T and the GBO team.
    • Lead enhancements and onboarding backlog of customer depletions data from TradeEdge to DDH
    • Ensure data integrity and timeliness to support reliable reporting and performance insights
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Define business requirements for commercial scorecards and reporting dashboards
    • Partner with BI developers and business leaders to design Power BI dashboards that integrate Vision, DDH, and other data sources


Key Responsibilities - Commercial Processes
  • Trade Investment (TI) Planning & Accruals
    • Act as TI Lead to streamline commercial inputs in support of the accrual processes for enhanced financial accuracy and visibility
    • Collaborate with Commercial Finance, FP&A, and RGM teams to ensure GT drives a) improved visibility to TI, b) increased controllability/ conditionality, and c) integration of downstream M&E outputs to advise TI adjustments.
  • Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
    • Work in close partnership with the IBP Lead to embed the commercial forecast into the wider IBP operating model
    • Ensure promotional and baseline forecasts align with operational and financial planning processes
  • Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Scope and lead future business improvement projects alongside the Head of Commercial Excellence
  • Lead business requirement gathering & business case development for future system enhancements or capability builds


Experience / skills required:

Experience (e.g., education, years of experience, specific skills)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or a similar field
  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in data management, operations, or a related role, with a focus on data & analytics, data processing and reporting.
  • Commercial Foresight: deep understanding of how Account Managers plan, forecast, sell, and lead a commercial P&L is beneficial.
  • Technical Implementation: Anaplan experience is critical. Consistent record of implementing systems or improving existing processes within an organization. Experience designing power BI reports is a must. Along with sophisticated Excel skills.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with various departments, such as D&T, Finance, Marketing, and Sales, to align data strategies with business goals.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Demonstrated ability to use data analytics to drive business improvements and inform decision-making.

  • Data Management Proficiency: Strong understanding of data governance, data quality principles and handling multiple data systems efficiently.
  • Business Analysis Skills: Strong ability to analyze sophisticated data, map proccesses and handle business requirements to generate actionable insights that support cross-functional decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Project Management: Strong project management capabilities to oversee data initiatives, meet timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to act as the liaison between Data & Technology (D&T), vendors, and the Commercial team, ensuring alignment and clarity on data needs and objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and implement solutions quickly to enhance data processes and operations across multiple systems.
