Purpose

To be responsible for the operational, day-to-day management of financial data to ensure financial control, derive insights, support decision-making, and make recommendations to improve performance focus on the LE level of the market. Ensure control procedures are strictly adhered to in line with global processes and standards.

Accountabilities

1. Day-to-day management of the respective / Balance sheet area from accounting, reporting, and controlling perspectives.
2. The role owns all tasks related to technical accounting, risk and compliance, external audit coordination, statutory and group LE financials preparation, and sign- off on an annual and monthly basis, respectively.
3. Accountability for accurate and fair representation of the numbers in the LE financial statements at the Management and Statutory level; Interpret reports and data using a range of techniques and tools and communicate to business and financial colleagues, providing technical support and advice to business partners. Continuously monitor the respective P&L and/or BS accounts for any inconsistencies.
4. Develop, present, and champion recommendations to business unit teams on actions to drive business results.
5. Ensure that financial processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to in line with global processes and standards.
6. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, controls, compliance, and adherence to global standards and procedures.

Market

MX Demand Market. This is one of the biggest and most complex markets in LAC with an NSVFY23 of around USD$210M. The market manages 7 Legal Entities including Agricultural, Manufacturing, Financing, and Distribution Businesses. Mexico is a Tier 1 Control and SOX Market.

Key interactions - Internal

• Finance Business partners and Finance centers of excellence - collaborate to provide end-to-end finance delivery for regions/areas/end markets. E.g.: PUB Financial Controller, PUB Finance Director, PUB FP&A manager, Supply Manager, Treasury teams

• Global Business operations - Collaborate closely across teams to provide high-quality, timely management information to the business E.g.: LAC Financial Controlling Teams, RTR Teams, and BPM Teams.

• Business unit managers -credible and strong working relationships. Leads and/or contributes to agreed governance forums and processes. E.g.: in Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay functional managers/directors

• Audit, risk, and controls- collaboration on internal audits and implementation of effective internal controls

Key interactions - External

• External service providers (e.g. banking, payroll, etc) - maintain operational level supplier relationships

• External auditors - providing support and responding to requests for information and other questions

Qualifications/experience

Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree educated in relevant finance/business
  • Financial Accounting / Reporting, and/or Financial Controlling experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment from a professional services audit background
  • Experience in a Shared Services environment is considered an advantage
  • Complex Stakeholder management & leadership
  • Performance orientation and problem-solving
  • Outstanding Personal and virtual communication skills.
  • Team leadership
  • Ability to manage expectations both from team and stakeholders
  • Manage and grow remote teams

Work experience

Minimum of 8 years working and management experience in a multinational corporate environment, with exposure to some of the following areas:
  • Financial and Management Accounting, Controlling & Reporting processes
  • Accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, etc..) experience
  • Internal/external audit experience and/or SOX
  • Experience with Shared services process activities
  • Big4 experience is a big plus
  • Process improvement
  • Project/change management
  • Business experience and understanding
  • Risk assessment
  • Improved senior stakeholder management and influencing skills

Language skills
  • Effective communication in English, Spanish
  • Portuguese speaking is a plus in facilitating communication with the Market
