About the Function
Diageo's operation in Budapest has been established for more than 15 years. During this time it has grown to have an employee base of more than 1000 people (around one third of all Finance people in Diageo) providing services relating to the End to End Commercial, Financial Controlling (including financial controlling for Supply) and Business Performance Management processes.
As part of Global Supply Chain and Procurement department (GSC&P) provides oversight on financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting and financial planning and analysis. The tower is responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L and balance sheet delivering solutions that will increase insight and transparency. Tower responsibilities also include ensuring there is a true and fair representation of business performance at the cut-off point for the period and transparency on financials for Business Performance Management.
About the Role
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is to drive the annual SKU reset for their dedicated region, manage monthly recoveries reporting and support ongoing Innovation and Brand Change projects (innovation, renovation, etc.). Costing Manager is leading a team of 5-6. Willingness and capability of managing BAU processes and changes through the Costing Team is a must.
Top Accountabilities
- Line manage Costing Analysts in the team
- Drive SKU reset process through external and internal stakeholders for assigned regions
- Calculate of the overhead activity rates (labour, plant, central overheads or PMUDOS) in the annual SKU reset.
- Manage annual/monthly production cost recoveries & production accounting reporting process (provision of AOP, monthly analysis of variances, forecasting)
- Ensure that the monthly ML cycle is successfully run and all errors are followed up
- Provision of indicative costings for complex projects
- Standardisation / Simplification - in collaboration with other Costing colleagues, simplifying and standardising costing processes into a single way of Costing.
- Finance Excellence - working with the Costing Senior Manager to develop and embed Costing rules across the brand change and supply finance community, ensuring these are clearly understood and adhered to

About You
- University or College degree in Economics or Finance and Accounting
- Costing and/or Financial Controlling, FP&A experience is preferred
- 5-6 years experience in relevant area
- Basic accounting experience
- Experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
- Strong financial / commercial analysis background, proven ability to communicate with stakeholders at varying levels and the ability to flex to different market environments/ cultures
- Have the ability to think broadly when a system related challenge occurs and extract data in a way that supports decision making
- Fluent English knowledge
