As a Compliance Engineer, you'll work closely with Site Management, Maintenance, Risk & Governance, and our Global Engineering team to ensure all activities align with legislation and Diageo standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Managing compliance databases (GRMS, SFIP's, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR, Fixed Electrical Inspections).
  • Overseeing statutory inspections, isolations, risk assessments, method statements, and Permit to Work systems.
  • Driving compliance through SAP and other systems (EQMS, Enablon, SharePoint).
  • Preparing and presenting compliance metrics and leading bi-weekly governance meetings.
  • Supporting technical teams in audits, management of change, and maintenance reviews.
  • Acting as a Safety Ambassador, championing zero harm and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:
  • An HNC/HND in Mechatronics (electrical bias) or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of core mechanical processes, with the ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and P&ID drawings.
  • Experience in Health & Safety compliance (NEBOSH, IOSH, PUWER, COMPEX, machinery safety advantageous).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with SAP or similar systems.
  • Hands-on maintenance/engineering experience and a strong understanding of legislative requirements.
  • Compliance certification or prior experience in a compliance management role is a plus.

About the Site
Our Belfast packaging site, commissioned in 1983, spans 12 acres and operates 24/7 (excluding public holidays). It houses two canning lines, a tank farm, warehousing, and distribution facilities, producing 130 SKUs-60% for domestic markets and 40% for export-ranging from 250ml to 568ml. Together with our Runcorn site in Northwest England, we package Guinness in cans, bottles, and kegs for Ireland, the UK, and global markets, with significant investment underway across both sites.
