About You:
We are looking for an individual, with great leadership and commercial skills, to help us transform the way we get to our customers and consumers with our brands, through multichannel distributors in México.
The role has the responsibility to understand channel's growth drivers within sub-channels, implement the strategy to win and partner with internal and external teams.
Function:
The main purpose of this role is to lead the development of new channels for Diageo, understanding growth drivers and transforming them into strategies that develop our brands, through multichannel distributors.
For this, this person will be the source for knowledge and commercial & activation planning for Field Sales, Account Management and Distributors Teams, providing them with the tools and support materials to drive brilliant execution within the channel/customers. The role will also track and evaluate channel in-store execution against well-defined scorecard metrics, ensuring we deliver on time the best brand experiences.
Initially some of the functions this role will perform are:
- Lead our understanding on the channel, taking advantage of external and internal data to nurture the strategy.
- Build up the execution planning and the activation on the channel (A&P + Trade Spend), striving to deliver results that enhance business confidence to invest more on the next months. For F30 encouraged to be 2X bigger.
- Build positive relationships with mid to senior key partners within distributors, leading commercial activation conversations and prioritization.
- Preparing monthly performance reports for internal and external partners.
- Drive a culture of performance and continuous improvement, measuring execution and market impact.
About the Role:
New Business CP&A position is critic on our F27 ambition to double our business. With the current structure, Diageo only reaches 50K POSs, while the opportunity by this channel is to sum up to 350K POSs more, from on & off trade; furthermore, this brings a new complexity for the company, as this new POS are in zones in Mexico that today are not within Diageo's scope.
This role provides the unique opportunity of leading and influence internally and externally, leading the execution on a strategic business channel, and directly supporting the outstanding growth of 2X that will lead us to generate more than 15% of our sales in the next 3 years.
Helps the team to leads the commercial planning conversations to the next level, bringing business acumen, on & off trade understanding and category development knowledge, to reach new possibilities within the channel; brings curiosity, and the ability to test, learn, re-shape and deploy, with a clear focus on hacking growth in this channel.
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages:
- Ideally 5 years on trade marketing, capabilities or commercial roles, with deep understanding sales channels.
- Highly motivated person with a great capacity of influence at all levels: from people at the execution floor, to distributors middle management.
- Engage effectively with partners to drive timely and appropriately the commercial planning initiatives. This role will provide great leadership skills in coordinating different areas (Field Sales, Account Management and Distributors Teams).
- Quick learning and adaptation skills.
- Experience handling big trade investment budgets, with the proper organization and control, while asking more for more.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to shape analytical findings into meaningful insights for our business and distributors' businesses.
- Clear focus and understanding of the big bets in terms of business execution and effective/agile implementation skills.
- Ability to operate at the tactical and operational level, being connected with the business strategy.
- Commercially astute, with understanding of the demand side of the business and how it interacts with the commercial chain.
- Clear communication skills both written and verbal. English Spanish proficiency preferred.
