What this role means to Diageo & Your Future Career...

Reporting into the Field Sales Manager, you'll be joining a team of energetic and exciting Business Development Managers who play a crucial role in Diageo's Commercial Function. This role is your gateway into a world-class sales environment, offering incredible exposure to our globally renowned portfolio.

Most notably, this is a high-impact, on-premise focused position. You will be the face of Diageo in bars, restaurants, and hospitality venues-bringing our brands to life where they are enjoyed most: in the hands of consumers, in social moments, in the on-premise.

You'll be driving visibility, advocacy and commercial success for our portfolio across your territory. Our BDMs are not just sales reps-they are on-premise specialists, shaping brand presence, mentoring venues, and influencing consumer experiences in real time.

This is a career-defining role that combines formal development through a custom-designed sales curriculum, hands-on coaching from respected leaders, and real-world brand ownership. And with some regional travel involved (approximately 3-4 nights/month), you'll broaden your reach and impact even further.

A Day in the Life of a Diageo BDM...
  • Be the On-Premise Expert: Build strong partnerships with key on-premise accounts-bars, pubs, clubs, and restaurants-to activate our brands in the most dynamic and high-energy environments.
  • Know Your Market: Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity and consumer behaviour to unlock new growth opportunities within your on-premise territory.
  • Drive Sales with Purpose: Execute compelling sales strategies across Diageo's diverse brand portfolio, ensuring our products are seen, experienced and celebrated in the right venues.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with marketing, brand, and supply teams to bring to life bold initiatives and activations within the on-premise space.
  • Lead with Influence: From staff engagement and product training to pouring rituals and trade advocacy, you'll inspire and elevate on-premise partners to become champions of our brands.
  • Negotiate with Confidence: Lead commercial conversations that drive mutual success for Diageo and our customers, while building long-term loyalty.
