The Role
Dematic/KION is looking for a SAP Variant Configuration Specialist responsible for configuration changes, enhancements on SAP Systems.
Essential Role and Responsibilities
To be successful in this demanding role, your proven track record will enable you to deliver against the following key performance areas:
- Responsible for implementing part or all the solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed Functional design.
- Work on roll-out and implementation of new business applications and functionality specifically within the SAP MM and purchasing space.
- Responsible for Variant configuration, Formulation of VC Master data, dependencies, and VC Prototypes.
- Responsible for successful implementation of SAP, including providing functional expertise, guidance, presentation, and instruction on SAP products to users.
- Engage with Key Users and Business partners to identify and validate requirements and translate to solution design.
- Analyzes and develops functional specifications and communicates to technical developers to develop the required solutions in the most efficient way.
- Monitor and present periodic status to stakeholders.
- Monitor Risks / Issues and prepare appropriate mitigation plans.
- Ensure best practices are followed and required processes and specifications are documented.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or similar field.
- 5+ years of experience in SAP Variant Configuration.
- Experience working in S/4HANA Implementation projects.
- Experience of Formulation of VC Master data like Characteristics, Characteristic Values, Class, Configurable Material, Configuration Profile, Object Dependencies and Dependency Net and its assignment to various objects.
- Experience on VC Prototype or VC POC, Variant Characteristics.
- Experience in configuration profiles, object dependencies, configurable materials, BOM setup and VC costing.
- Knowledge of LE processes (outbound deliveries processing, upload/download IDOC material flows from external systems, transportation planning, freight costs calculation).
- Understanding the integration with various SAP modules like MM, QM, CO, PP, PM, WM, SD, and FI.
- Experience in working with global teams.
- Knowledge of implementation project life cycles including blueprinting, configuration, testing, cut-over and go-live support.
- Experience with large-scale ERP implementations.
- Proficient using Project Management tools (JIRA).
- Strong communication skills (English required C1/C2).
- Resume/CV must be submitted in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% internationally.
