Treasury Analyst

The Treasury Analyst is an early-career finance professional who will support key functions within the Treasury department. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in corporate finance, is detail-oriented, and is eager to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment. This position provides a solid foundation in Treasury and offers opportunities to gain exposure to areas such as cash management, banking operations, investment oversight, and treasury systems.

This is a hybrid role with up to 3 monthly onsite days in Oakland, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages investment transactions and portfolio records: Including recording and reconciling transactions (purchases, sales, interest, and dividends), ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and handles month-end reconciliations related to custodial banking and investment activities.
  • Oversees valuations and accounting processes: Covers monitoring the valuation of financial instruments (e.g., mark-to-market adjustments), managing accounting entries for various asset classes, and reconciling and preparing bank analysis fees with timely payment arrangements.
  • Prepares investment reports for internal stakeholders (e.g., management, board of directors) and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, regulators).
  • Analyzes portfolio performance, including returns, risks, and alignment with investment strategies.
  • Ensures sufficient liquidity for the organization by monitoring cash reserves and investment maturities.
  • Manages short-term investments to optimize returns while meeting the company's liquidity needs.
  • Partners with finance, accounting, and investment teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Supports audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations related to investment activities.
  • Creates reports and analyzes data to identify solutions that meet business goals.
  • Analyzes current processes and identifies existing or potential problems in order to discover new process improvement opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or in progress with expected graduation within 6 months).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, sorting/filtering, and pivot tables; familiarity with macros is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fixed-income securities and investment performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of corporate banking practices.
  • Financial analysis and investment accounting skills.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively, offering alternative solutions as appropriate.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 18. $56,900 - $119,200
