Provider Onboarding Specialist

This position is responsible for analyzing and reviewing source documentation, as well as setting up and maintaining the integrity of provider contract and credential information in the Provider System of Record. The incumbents in this position also assist in the resolution of system issues related to provider onboarding.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the integrity of an electronic database and assists dental provider's offices with entering provider contracts, business name changes, tax ID changes, termination of dental contracts, change of ownership, sale of practices, adding associates, license changes, dental specialty changes, updated contract information, and provider directory assistance.
  • Provides verbal or written notification to providers or Network Development to obtain incomplete information required to process work.
  • Researches returned outreach notifications and updates the system with corrected information to maintain directory accuracy.
  • Provides direction to internal teams on provider set up, contracting issues, procedures and practices.
  • Researches issues related to provider contracting and workflows and provides feedback/recommendations to management for review.
  • Maintains accuracy and compliance in each entry to ensure compliance to regulatory bodies and prevent financial penalties.

  • Qualifications:

    • 1+ years of experience w/High School
    • 2+ years of experience preferred
    • Strong organizational/time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of contract/policy processing concepts, policies, guidelines and systems
    • Aptitude to learn and develop proficiencies with new concepts, legal requirements, processes and technology
    • Effectively able to adapt to change and be comfortable handling risk and uncertainty
    • Customer-focused with ability to empathize with customer
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality when exposed to sensitive information
    • Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

    Base Pay Information

    The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
    Pay Grade 14. $36,900 - $74,600
