The Patient Communication & Scheduling Specialist supports the Emerge program and serves as the first point of contact for patients of the clinic, providing exceptional service through inbound phone support. This role is responsible for answering patient questions, scheduling appointments, and assisting with account and MyChart-related inquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
  • Schedule appointments accurately based on provider availability and patient needs.
  • Provide general information about services, office hours, and provider schedules.
  • Assist patients with basic billing questions and direct more complex inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Troubleshoot and support patients using the MyChart patient portal.
  • Respond to patient requests for information such as fax numbers, forms, or medical record requests.
  • Ensure all patient interactions are documented appropriately in the EHR system.
  • Escalate urgent or complex issues to supervisors or clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience w/High School

Additional Experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in a call center, dental, or medical office environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to multitask and manage high call volumes.
  • Familiarity with scheduling systems, EHRs, and patient portals such as MyChart.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 13. $33,600 - $67,900
