The Provider Onboarding Manager is responsible for leading all activities related to the strategic management of the Provider Contracting and Credentialing teams. This role ensures efficient operations, high-quality service delivery, and compliance across provider contracting, credentialing, and directory management functions to support a large dental service organization (DSO). The Manager drives operational excellence, employee performance, and continuous improvement to achieve business goals and performance guarantees.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight for provider contracting, credentialing, onboarding, compliance, audits, and provider communications.
- Ensure service levels, contractual obligations, and compliance expectations are consistently met.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects and allocate departmental resources effectively.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives and align departmental goals with enterprise objectives.
- Advise senior management on complex or high-impact provider-related matters.
- Identify, recommend, and implement industry best practices to enhance customer experience, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, support market needs, and develop innovative solutions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on strategic initiatives—defining goals, execution plans, and performance metrics.
- Oversee analytical and reporting needs to inform data-driven business decisions.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Serve as liaison to the Enterprise Credential Committee, overseeing meeting preparation, agenda creation, and minutes documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in medical, dental, or health systems.
- Minimum of 4 years leading and developing supervisory-level staff.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to foster innovation, teamwork, and accountability.
- Subject matter expertise in provider onboarding functions (contracts, implementation, credentialing, or compliance).
- Advanced project management and analytical skills, including root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in process improvement and workflow optimization.
- Comfortable managing change and navigating uncertainty.
- Strong PC and MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); Smartsheet certification preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and with external partners.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 21. $80,500 - $174,300
