Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Manager - Optimization in Atlanta, Georgia. Lead a team to solve optimization business problems pertaining to Pricing, Revenue Management, and Offer creation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and maintain proprietary models and engines that result in improved customer offers and increased revenue for Delta Air Lines.
  • Lead, train, motivate, and mentor a diverse, high-performing, and innovative team with skills that include optimization, statistics, data science, and programming.
  • Identify commercial opportunities that can be addressed by developing data sources, methods, tools and models to optimize Delta revenue.
  • Maintain a pulse on industry efforts and disruptive technologies, and champion solutions to further Delta's position as an industry leader.
  • Exemplify servant leadership with a focus on team development and employee career growth.
  • Foster a culture focused on deep understanding of airline pricing and revenue management business problems and innovative, modern, and flexible solutions.
  • Analyze the interrelationships between Schedules, Pricing, and Revenue Management, and the combined impact on the Delta Customer experience.
  • Set short-term and long-term strategic goals and objectives for areas of responsibility with specific plans to close gaps and adjust priorities as circumstances change.
  • Monitor and regularly communicate performance and progress towards goals.
  • Build strong working relationships with leaders and experts across Revenue Management, Pricing, Global Pricing Distribution, Operations Research, Distribution/Digital, and IT.
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Telecommuting is permitted 2-3 days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Master's degree in Operations Research or related field, and five years of experience with development and evaluation of product solutions, process improvement, or related.
  • Advanced mathematics and statistics experience including regression modeling, k-means clustering, causal inference, hypothesis testing, and data mining;
  • Optimization including quadratic programming, dynamic programming, and meta-heuristics;
  • Machine Learning, including supervised and unsupervised classification, clustering, and forecasting;
  • Unix shell scripting; and
  • Python, SQL, SAS, and database management.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Airline experience is preferred
