Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Chicago, IL.

Work You'll Do

Assist clients in managing state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assist with overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries as well as research and analyze a wide range of tax issues, such as deferred tax liability issues and tax implications of financing techniques, for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or a related occupation gaining experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations and partnerships in multistate jurisdictions.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Performing tax research utilizing tax software and tools, including CorpTax, GoSystem, RIA CheckPoint, BNA, and CCH;
    • Preparing and filing withholding and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies in multi-state jurisdictions;
    • Preparing state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and partnerships based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities;
    • Analyzing conflict state issues, including master limited partnerships, state audit provisions, multi-state corporate conversions, or tax restructuring issues;
    • Performing state taxation services, including state apportionments, modifications, and state and local credits calculations, based on varying state regulations;
    • Assisting with mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, audit, and other tax-related issues and inquiries; and
    • Preparing and filing K-1s, withholding, and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies, including private equity and real estate funds.
  • Position requires approximately 10% domestic travel.
