Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in San Francisco, CA.

Work You'll Do

Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand national, state and local, and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client's overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organizations global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Participate in complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, research and analyze a wide range of tax issues. Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, including gifting, trusts, and estate planning, to minimize tax liabilities and preserve family wealth. Undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for federal and individual clients. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months as Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Preparing federal and state income tax returns for high net worth individuals;
    • Utilizing tax software, including GoSystem, CCH Axcess, and BNA, to prepare federal, state, local, and international income tax returns, run tax projections, and calculate estimated tax and process filings;
    • Researching and preparing Form 114A annual report related to foreign bank accounts;
    • Utilizing tax research tools, including BNA, CCH, and RIA Checkpoint, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients;
    • Preparing and reviewing Forms 3520 and 3520A for foreign trusts;
    • Performing cash flow planning for estates, trusts, and family office structures, and performing generational wealth transfer planning;
    • Performing cost basis analysis for individual cryptocurrency investors;
    • Assisting with the preparation of tax documentation and responses to tax authorities; and
    • Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00/year.
